Other Seagal having problems filming in Thailand ???

"If offshore film makers want to take advantage of Thailand, however, they will have to embrace two things at the outset: the Asian concept of "face" and the fact that, in Thai culture, "mai suparb" or bad manners are an absolute no-no. The Beach (starring Leonardo DiCaprio) experienced untold problems because of aggressive American behaviour; the Survivor series suffered for the same reason; and a washed-up Steven Seagal is finding it impossible to get his projects up because he failed to respect protocol on a previous occasion."

Hmmmm, he might have went off on someone who got
on his nerves...Anything's possible...Looks to me like he probably could have a pretty bad temper, sometimes  ....And I don't just mean in the movies...:D But, you have to consider what the press does to antagonize him...
Wasn't that one pushy reporter we heard about before, from Thailand?

Providing the "story" is true, which I have my
doubts, why doesn't he tell Thailand and all of their
protocol people to go take a hike! He can go
film some where else! He doesn't "need" Thailand!
If anything they need him and others to come there
and spend their money to help boost their economy!
Respect is one thing, stupidity is another!
God bless,

When he was in Thailand in August 2002 he had cuarel wth some journalist this can be the reason why journalists are against him.

Remember this:

Seagal Shrugs Off Mafia Questions
Thursday, August 08, 2002

BANGKOK, Thailand — Action star Steven Seagal got angry with a reporter on Thursday who asked him about his tangles with the Mafia.
Seagal was doing preproduction on the movie Belly of the Beast, scheduled to begin filming here in November, which he described as "kind of a political thriller." He said Thailand is one of his favorite countries in the world, adding that he's visited "maybe 100 times or more" over 30 years.

"I like the culture, the people, the religion," said Seagal, who practices Buddhism, Thailand's national religion.

But he lost his cool when a reporter asked about a dispute with a former business partner, Julius Nasso, who has sued Seagal for $60 million, accusing him of backing out of a contract to perform in four movies.
Earlier this year, Nasso was arrested and charged with extortion in league with 16 members of the Gambino organized crime group. The case made headlines in June when federal prosecutors in New York said they'd taped Nasso and a Gambino gang leader allegedly plotting the shakedown of Seagal. Nasso has pleaded innocent to extortion.

Seagal was openly annoyed at the questions about Nasso's lawsuit, complaining to an assistant about being asked on-camera about it.

"You can start talking about my personal life in America, but everyone in Hollywood knows it's beyond stupid, beyond ludicrous," said the 51-year-old, who described the lawsuit as a "publicity stunt" to draw attention away from Nasso's arrest "with 16 other major Mafia figures."

"Everybody knows who I am, everybody knows who he is. It's no secret," he said. "

I believe the shadow of Nasso is following him everywhere.
He should be paying those journalists to direct questions that
Seagal doesn't like.
Thailand is a very easy and hard place to be or to work. I have visited Thailand more than 30 times. That is the reason why my nick is "savadee". I like the people and the country. But the people are very sensative. They easily get offended. Hard job to try to do a business. May good angels be with Seagal.

Thanks Suzi,

I am sure the reporter incident is what has got their feathers ruffled, and I don't know what protocol they are talking about however I do know a few Thai people, and I feel they are fairly direct people personality wise, in fact many Americans might find them a little abrupt, perhaps it's just a silly cultural clash....I am sure Steven doesn't set out to upset anyone, I am sure he is well aware of 'the cultural ways' of other countries...All I know, is that it seems the reporter upset him, by getting too personal...

They all should be careful.I'm sure if someone concerned about the reporter's personal life or about the things he didn't like he's get annoyed too.
