JAPAN'S FOREIGN AIKIDO DOJO
The grand opening of Seagal's Tenshin Dojo, February 8, 1975, was attended by Ueshiba Sensei, head of Hombu Dojo, and others. And in July, 1976, when Seagal conducted the first international seminar ever held in Japan, Ueshiba Sensei came from Tokyo again. He said in a speech he was happy that for the first time on Japanese soil a foreigner had opened a budo dojo.
"Aikido is to make God's heart your heart and the whole world come together as one family. It's not just for Japan but for the whole world."
