Seminar videos

Does anyone know where I might find some Steven Seagals seminar or other training videos. I heard that there are some out there somewhere. Like in the path beyond thought most of it is taped on a home video recorder or something. I wonder if anyone has the full copies of these?

There are no seminar videos or instructional videos starring Seagal Sensei that I know of. There are a few seminar videos starring Haruo Matsuoka Sensei that were produced by Tenshin Dojo - however, those videos are no longer in production since Matsuoka Sensei is no longer a student of Seagal Sensei's. I only know one official title of these videos - it is called "Aikido in Action" and is about 45 minutes long. It is not an instructional video - it is a compilation of clips from Matsuoka Sensei's seminars. The action in this video is incredible (I own a copy) and definitely worth watching if you ever get your hands on it.

As far as I was told.......video footage was taken ever since there were video cameras around(even some 8mm film)...
as mentioned above.....there are no 'official' releases at all........unless you want to count PBT as an official release of some seminar footage......that's about as close as the 'public is to get any of it....video was taken at all the seminars by Ten Shin......whether Seagal was there or not.......these were(at the time) or may still be the sole property of Ten Shin ....and only loaned out to students for personal viewing .....unless you know a former or current student that is willing to make copies( I had no luck..but was offered to view them) there's not much chance of getting hold of any of it......to me....that makes the $30 price for PBT worth it.....just for a chance to see and have some of the rare early Japan footage(at the original Ten Shin dojo that Seagal trained and taught at) and some various semiar footage...
The few students I talked with were unwaivering in there descision not to make any copies of there......
Heck..I'm still at a loss as to how Bing Dahn got release(if he did) of some of the footage for use in PBT.....lol
and I was also wondering why Matsuoka never even got mentioned(though he appears) on PBT...'specially being he was Seagal's senior student and Seagal turned over the responsibilities Ten Shin to him when Seagal no longer could be teaching classes due to filming schedules and the fact he was now a 'public figure.......
The word around Ten Shin at the time was that Seagal was not very pleased nor happy about any of that footage being released for sales on the public video market ...

The reason Matsuoka Sensei was not given any recognition in PBT is because PBT was produced after Matsuoka Sensei left Tenshin. And you are correct, there is a wealth of footage of Seagal Sensei as well as Matsuoka Sensei from seminars around the world. However, very little of this footage was ever produced into the public market - and the little that was, which was mostly, if not all, Matsuoka Sensei footage, is no longer available. And, again, you are right, the few people that do have copies of the tapes will not reproduce it... very sad considering Matsuoka Sensei is an excellent Aikidoka and an excellent instructor and the footage of his techniques is worth watching over and over again.
