Just went over to IMDB to research the people who are involved with "Into the Sun". Found some interesting information.

Joe Halpink, the writer:

Tracee Stanley, Executive Producer*
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0822609/

*I don't know what is involved in being a producer, but she seems to have a long list of experience. Unfortunately, many of those releases were either DTV's or box office flops. Let's hope she has nothing to do with marketing.

Thanks for the info Res.Dog...

I'm really hoping it turns out great! It certainly looks from the pictures, that Seagal was getting back into his shape of the good ol' times...

A producer does just that, finds the budget, finds the crew, keeps the film to budget and time, makes decisions on anything relating to the management of staff, money and the general ability to make the picture. So long as they bring a good crew together (they usually have their favourites who they call to work with them) they are then not directly responsible for the artistic side of the production. However, a good producer who can put together a talented team of director, lighting director, camera operator, sound mixer, boom, art director, and lighting crew, will have a head start in making a good movie. A producer with a poor reputation will not get a good crew, beause good crews will not risk their reputations even for a big pay cheque. In the movie crew world reputation is everything. Stevens recent movies have lacked a good director, lighting sound and photography director. About the only thing he has had is good location management, but again he has to keep going to countries with limited talent to stay within budget. It would be good to see him make a U.S or UK film with a high class unit - what a difference that would make!!!

Tiggy, are you related to TD by any chance LOL you sound so much alike LOL

Remember the movie "The Italian Job" ... well, that director has had only one good movie made before that and it was "The Negotiator" ... think about that...

I observe she worked on Battlefield Earth, inarguably the worst movie ever made. It was so bad, none of the film reviewers here in Toronto would even give it a rating. It was the first time, I believe, that a movie achieved that distinction.

Our Steven sure knows how to pick 'em, don't he?

I bet Seagal doesnt get to pick who he works with. WB has him over a barrel. They can give him whoever they want, probably because of saving money and little faith in Seagal to begin with.

Except it was Franchise pictures who were the studio this film was being made through, until they went toes up. WB didn't step in until Franchise died. Steven's worked with Franchise how many times now? And each film was worse than the last.

Into the Sun DOES have some good people working on it. Editor Michael Duthie for one, Don Fanutleroy, cinematographer of Jeepers Creepers (he also did second unit work on T2) and TRACEE STANLEY.

Stanley is a Franchise exec who is assigned her movies, which is how she got on Battlefield Earth -- the worst movie ever made. However, I've heard a few DVD commentaries were the directors (Submerged's Anthony Hickox for one) have mentioned she's a sweet person who does a good job, unlike the people she works for.

I also heard Dickey Beer was involved with the stunts on Sun. Didn't he work on a few of the James Bond movies? That's hardly anything to be ashamed of.

The film unit for the Seige films was quite good. It would be good if Steven could work with them again, they know he can produce the goods, so his ecent disasters shouldn't count against him ...... unless he was difficult on set at that time. He has certainly not endeared himself to many past units!

Not related

Yudansha, No not related to TD, but certainly think in much the same way. Funnily enough, I suppose like minds draw together and we do e'mail and plan to meet up in LA next year. However, the fact that we invariably come out with the same views/statements, and although great supporters of SS, will not go along with his poor performances, is, purely coincidental!
