I am so sure she is a most wonderful lady to raise him, he is such a caring and compassionate man, I am sure this came from her...
I think he wanted them (the pics) to be small...
Again, he's very private, and doesn't want his kids or his family exploited...
I guess that there is stuff he did want to share, and I cry at the depth of sharing he does with us on that album...
It's truly a treasure...

Yippeeeeeeeeee!!! My copy arrived this morning - and booo hoo, I have been banned from playing it until tonight as my son is sleeping! So about to go out in the car so that i can play it really loudly. Things I have noticed, Lotussan, on the back of the CD it says Copyright 2004, and as it came out in the early part of 2004, it would have ben recorded in 2003. Albums can be rushed through, ie: for Christmas sales, but this has been put together slowly, and I would guess he has been working on it for a couple of years, and recorded it in late 2003. Next thing that is slightly worrying me, is his mother still alive? Quoting from the booklet, "I also want to thank my mother Patricia, WHOSE LAST WORDS TO ME WERE how much she loved the music and how much it meant to her that I was getting this album out to the world. For this and all she has done for me, i would like to express my deepest gratitude. Have I misinterpreted this statement - is he just saying thank you and using odd wording? Next in the small pictures in the front of the booklet there is a lovely picture of Savanna with his mother, and another lovely picture of him with all six of his children - but as ever Dominic is hiding his face. He is so rarely pictured, he clearly shuns his fathers fame. They are great pictures, but very small -any of you techno wizzards able to blow them up? Off for a ride in my car now to listen to the velvet voice!!

Hey, Tiggy - oh, I'm so envious! Yes, his mother died last year, I think it was around September, but I'm not sure, and since the 2003 posts have been archived, I'm not sure how to retrieve them to check.

Misc News: Seagal Sensei is currently filming his next movie in Poland. Sensei is due back in the states in late August or early September, if all goes well we may just be able to visit him for a weekend of training in LA. As soon as I hear anything I will post it on this page."

Yes, very sad it was...I felt so for him, as I know they were so close...She must have been such a great lady...However it was never in the papers I guess, so I imagine many people didn't know she passed...May she rest in peace, and I hope that he's adjusted a little, you never do get over it, but the memories are very sustaining...It's too bad she couldn't hear the music though, but I am sure she did get to while it was being worked on...Thanks, Serena, you are so special and compassionate, really really wonderful...

Yes Tiggy pictures are very lovely and wonderful !!! Mine is copyrigt 2004. I liked sooo much My husband is listening too !! He liked especially Dance!! It's playing and I am listening all the day. But when I am listening "Don't you cry" I am crying ! very strange huh !!!
I guess this album was finished after his mother !!

I cry during this one too, and his voice for this one is very different, and the lyrics and music is really, really, really wonderful!

Albums are seldom rushed, particularly when there are guest artists and everyone has busy schedules. My guess is, it was laid one or two tracks at a time, but with all the songs previously recorded by Steven alone for discussion, planning and timing. Clearly he had it together enough for his mother to hear it before she died - again if you know when she died it will give you an idea of timing. Usually the only time an album is put down in one, is when artistes do big tours and then have off road periods, but require an albun out for the next tour. I don't think he chose the pictures to be small because he keeps his family private - in fact he is always being pictured with them. The small pictures were more a matter of available space, and my guess is that only Dominic has a problem with being photographed.

Wow, he's amazing if he did do most of it on his own, finishing touches and mixing was all added/done later, perhaps...
I'm glad to know that his mom was probably able to hear it, as he mentioned in the dedication that she was glad...
I can't imagine how proud she was of him, and their love will always be, just as my love for him will always be...
I know I am so proud of his work, but a mother's love is so special...
I know he was so close to her, I just feel that they were incredibly close indeed...
I guess the space issue was something, perhaps...
His son must be very shy, he looks so in the few pictures I have seen of him...
I'm the same way actually, it's easy online, as no one see's you...
Lately I'm not so sure, but, whatever...
Looking forward to new pictures with the family, perhaps if we hope, they'll happen...
We can wish, after all...
I know some of it was done in Poland, so I have some idea of the timing based upon little things...
This album is special, his true essence within it for all of us to experience, and it's sure has been a gift...

Well there are plenty of Savana, he has often posed with her, and there is a picture of all of them in the album booklet - just Dominic hiding, and yet another clear one of Savana with his mother, plus his oldest daughter has appeared in a film with him, so he can't be too fussed about them being seen. I know of several stars who do not like their children photographed and never pose with them.

Lets clear some of the myths here, In the interview with Michael caine the interviewer asks 'were you afraid he would hit you? all this hype that he might attack someone if displeased. No he would not, a) he is far too disiplined and B) he would go to prision and be sued out of his boots. Don't forget someone with his background attacking another person would be classed as a leathal weapon. Hollywood may appear a big place but it is not. In the movie world everyone knows everyone, it is a small very gossipy village. I and all my family are in the business, and I know a great many people in Hollywood. Sadly, I have to say Steven is not liked, he is difficult very rude and treats women as second class citizens. He hangs out with a group of hangers on with the brains of plankton - presumably, because they hang on his every word and enjoy being seen with him. Don't assume he was sad because he attended Ray Charles funeral, I suspect, like most of the people there they didn't give a jot, but it was important to be seen - hense arriving a little late - not having to vie with others for the attention! Steven is a very mixed up man, he knows what is right, he knows what he should do, but so far he seems to prefer the company of the plankton to that of the people who could help him. His trainer is in despair and his wonderful agent is getting no where. This particular agent has dropped two big names lately because of their behaviour, lets hope Steven isn't the third. Stevens life is a mass on conflictions, his Buddhist beliefs v his attitude to woman. His love of his family v his foul language and loutish behaviour, His continual preaching about the enviroment etc v what he has actually done about it. His head must be in such a muddle, because deep down he knows and doesn't like himself very much. I love to look at him - from a distance, I like to watch him in films, I love his voice, and I will continue to support him in the same way as I support my own son if he was in that position, but that does not mean I can be happy about it. It's easy to float on about what a wonderful guy he is, but the real truth is, at the moment, steven is not a very nice person.
