I'm sure most everyone has heard by now, but for those who didn't, this is an article about Harrison Ford's injury on the set of Star Wars, Episode 7. I know a broken ankle is no picnic, but I'm glad it wasn't more serious and hopefully he will be better soon!

"Star Wars bosses fear Harrison Ford will miss up to eight weeks of filming of their new sci-fi movie – but he is on the mend. Doctors have now confirmed the 71-year-old actor has a broken ankle but despite reports of a pelvic injury he has no other problems and is expected to leave hospital shortly.

Harrison’s wife Calista Flockhart said at the weekend she is flying out to the UK to be at her husband’s side. And whilst she helps Harrison to recover bosses will spend their time rescheduling as much of Star Wars: Episode VII as they can.

A movie source said: “The initial day or two after the accident it was hard to move things around but now we have had more time we can juggle things, bring some scenes forward and push others back. There are lots of other actors in the movie so it is not a disaster. We are still confident the film can stay on schedule. “At the moment it looks like Harrison is going to be off set for 6-8 weeks but the main priority is making sure he is OK.”

Ford is reprising his role as Han Solo in JJ Abrams’ Star Wars sequel, scheduled for release in December next year. Initially it was feared that his injury last Thursday could cost movie makers millions of pounds. A spokesman for Star Wars said they were 'Hoping to announce some good news soon.'"

Keep those pics coming, Mason! :) You do manage to get some quality pics and it's enjoyable following the progress of a movie I'm really looking forward to.

Good to see Mark Hamill putting himself out there in these publicity pics. I think he's been in more than anyone else so far.
And I think Billy Dee looks pretty good for 77!

Both Mark Hamill and B.D Williams look fantastic :) Cant wait to see Mark Hamill in EP7. It is going to be epic full throttle. I mean, nothing (in my book anyway) can be bigger than to get Luke Skywalker back on the big screen

Last week, it was revealed that Han Solo himself Harrison Ford was injured on the set of Star Wars: Episode VII after a door fell on him during shooting of a sequence. At the time it was reported that Ford had injured his ankle during the incident, but the BBC has confirmed with Ford's publicist that Ford actually broke his left leg.
"His surgery was successful and he will begin rehab shortly," the publicist said in a statement. "He's doing well and looks forward to returning to work."

A report earlier this week indicated that Ford will miss eight weeks of production on the film, though it won't affect the release of the highly-anticipated film.
Ford joins the returning Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker for the new film alongside new additions John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Lupita Nyongo, Gwendoline Christie and Max von Sydow.
Star Wars: Episode VII is being directed by J.J. Abrams from a script he co-wrote with Lawrence Kasdan. It will open in wide release on December 18, 2015.

Breaking: Rian Johnson to Write and Direct Star Wars: Episode VIII!
June 20, 2014.

In a major update to the future of the Star Wars saga on the big screen, Deadline is reporting that Brick, Looper and The Brothers Bloom helmer Rian Johnson is making plans to write and direct Star Wars: Episode VIII. Although the outlet is also reporting that he'll direct Star Wars: Episode IX, TheWrap claims that Johnson will only provide a treatment for the saga-finale and that a director for that final film has not yet been decided on. We'll update with official word as soon as it's available.

Johnson joins a seemingly ever-growing slate of top directors that are setting lightspeed coordinates for a galaxy far, far away. J.J. Abrams is currently filming
Star Wars: Episode VII while both Gareth Edwards (Godzilla, Monsters) and Josh Trank (Chronicle) are planning to helm solo films. The plan is for a new Star Wars film to hit every year beginning with Episode VII on December 18, 2015.

Two more names have been officially added to the cast of J.J. Abrams'
Star Wars: Episode VII today! Lucasfilm just revealed that Crystal Clarke and Pip Anderson are set to join Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, Kenny Baker, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Lupita Nyong'o and Gwendoline Christie in the December 18, 2015 release.

The official announcement reads as follows and offers

At the end of last year Lucasfilm and Disney invited all young aspiring actors to attend an open casting call for roles in J.J AbramsStar Wars Episode VII. The casting calls spanned 11 cities across the US and UK and over 37,000 hopefuls attended, with a further 30,000 submitting applications online.

Having hunted high and low for young and undiscovered talent, the filmmakers are delighted to announce that two actors from the open call call have been cast.

Crystal Clarke is an American actress studying in Glasgow, UK, who has both stage and screen acting experience and is soon to be seen in her first feature, "The Moon and the Sun" (to be released in 2015). British actor Pip Anderson is a skilled practitioner of parkour, a discipline that involves propelling oneself through any given environment with incredible grace and agility. Pip recently demonstrated this remarkable skill in a Spider-Man ad for Sony.

The Star Wars universe has always been about discovering and nurturing young talent and in casting Episode VII we wanted to remain absolutely faithful to this tradition. We are delighted that so many travelled to see us at the open casting calls and that we have been able to make Crystal and Pip a part of the film, said producer and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy.

Meanwhile, principal photography continues at Pinewood Studios in London after wrapping on location in Abu Dhabi in May.

In August, the team will take a brief two-week hiatus while adjustments to the current production schedule are made as actor Harrison Ford recovers from a leg injury. Harrison is doing well and is looking forward to returning to the set soon. Shooting remains on track to wrap in the fall with the film scheduled for release on December 18, 2015.
