Television Steven Seagal v Justin Lee Collins

Steven Seagal might be best known for an action-movie career spanning three decades but, as Justin discovers in this documentary, the Michigan-born actor has many more strings to his bow. As well as starring in, directing and producing his own films, Seagal is an accomplished blues musician, environmentalist, and a committed Buddhist, animal rights activist and philanthropist.

Justin starts out with a trip to Vancouver, Canada, to visit Steven on the set of his new cop drama series. As well as getting a chance to observe the great man in action, Justin has his heart set on getting a part in the show. Next, the pair head off to Steven’s base in Phoenix, Arizona, where Justin gets to see how the icon really lives behind closed doors.

In Arizona, Justin is granted exclusive and unprecedented access to Steven and his home life. He gets to experience both the glamour of the superstar lifestyle and the day-to-day experience of being an off-duty megastar away from the prying lens of the paparazzi.

Show airs February 14th Channel 5 in the UK at 22:00hrs.

Will it be coming to the US? I'd love to see that interview. It says we don't get DEMAND 5.

Yes that is the episode. I will watch tonight as have it recorded. :)

I really enjoyed it. It wasn't a tell-all but it was a unique experience to see him working on the set of "True Justice", and then seeing him at home in a relaxed and joking mood.

I was very excited at the prospect of this show. Seagal doesn't grant many interviews and even in his reality show we didn't get to know much about him. He's very private and a man of few words, the brief glimpses behind the scenes here were not enough to paint a real portrait but they were interesting. Seeing our hero travel to and from the set between takes on his TV show reinforced my perception that he doesn't have much love for his role as an action star, although it seems something he's unable to leave behind, perhaps because it pays so well? We were most privileged to see his home and meet some of his family (his fourth wife and seventh baby). JLC didn't offer any insight, he was simply star struck and made crass jokes. Seagal is tough to interview and responds better to those who show admiration, I know because I'm a big fan and I interviewed him once, and JLC probably couldn't have done any better. The fact that this documentary seemed to be more about a fan's awe than about Seagal himself disappointed me. That said, while the interviews themselves were brief and unremarkable, this was a more rewarding experience for fans than many of Seagal's recent films. It showed us, however briefly, a glimmer of the real man, but Seagal remains an enigma.

Omg!! THAT WAS AWESOME.....I had always hoped to hear Steven say "F**k Me..." (well, in person....not so much in an interview) but, hey, I'll take it :) He does have a great sense of humor.....

But...I censored it....I didn't type out the COMPLETE desired phrase ;)

Now, I do have a question...are those a rosary...or Tibetan prayer beads?? I have seen him wear the prayer beads before...and I was even able to get myself a prayer bead necklace...it is very centering to wear them :)

And as far as I am concerned, he doesn't have to hold a pillow, blanket, or anything else over his tummy...that means there is just more of that yummy man to love!!!
