Movies Steven to star in "Shadows on the Sun".

This is from Dark Horizons.com, as quoted in Variety.com. I couldn't get the full story from Variety, though, as a subscription is needed. Hopefully other sources will have more details soon.

Bey Logan and Jimmy Moy are developing "Shadows on the Sun" as a project that will mark a radical departure from Seagal's tough-guy persona. Scripted by Logan ("The Medallion"), it will feature Seagal as a burned-out former intelligence officer who runs a medical clinic in Japan just after WWII...

Jimmy Moy used to be Steven's chief security pitbull, and now he's a producer... I guess it does pay to get up close and personal to the famous.

Since this is a period post-war piece, I'm still trying to picture Steven in a pin-stripe (or grey flannel!) suit and fedora. And I'm still failing. There are some things even my vivid imagination can't picture.

-TD, still trying to get the image of a naked William Shatner covered in slime out of her mind - thanks, Spike TV (bleh)

The details are much different, and when have you ever seen Steven wearing headgear other than a doo-rag or that floppy beret in OFJ? Men of any age didn't go anywhere without a hat - usually a fedora - right up to the late 50s, and it was only during the 60s that men (in suits) stopped wearing hats.

Steven is a thoroughly modern man. He can't do period; he'd look ridiculous. And it would be so embarassing when he took off his hat and his spray-on hair came off with it...

-TD, knowing she's going to get killed for saying so but feeling reckless today

As for hats he wore that Navy hat in Under Siege at the end and a chief hat, what about that cop's hat on Exit wounds, I really thought he looked good in that navy hat.

Yes, but that was before the days of his spray-on hair use. He looks so much better without it, but, I guess, even guys can be vain and do silly things that they think improves their appearance.

Smile dammit!
Steven does his best with his appearance. He would real old with a bald head, the alternative. That said,i much preferred the Highlander type long hair and pony tail. It really suited him.

Believe it or not, I can kinda picture in my mind Steven in a pin-stripe suit and fedora, so long as he cuts off his ponytail. If he keeps that, he'll just look stupid (kind of stating the obvious there, eh?)

Anyhow, this sure seems like an interesting project. Can we already rule this a DTV release?

Oh, definitely. Low-budget, European shooting location, Romanian crew, unknown German director, no known North American actors (at least, so far) - based on what's happened with the most recent releases following a similar pattern, not a snowball's chance in hell this will make the theatres, at least, not in North America. :( Possibly Europe, but I'm doubtful, if the others haven't. (Exception: BOTB in Spain.)
