Submerged - review

Perhaps his delivery was a tad bit too real. The Director and everyone in the room probably feared he might be loosing his nerves. And obviously the Director didn't want to pay for Anger Management classes. Steven saw his and became calm. I mean why should the movie be behind schedule.

Or it could just be a terrible Script :)

Have I seen it yet? Let me ponder this for a moment. Well no and I stated this plenty of times. I never sent out the wrong idea. I and TD are on the same boat. But that last comment had absolutely nothing to do with having seen the film. That was more of a joke but I suppose you have to be on the same page as me to truly find it amusing. I have this strange dark type of humor.

i have just watched submerged and i most say i was not impressed...the dubbing was far to mush(about 70%) and seagal is only in the film about 50% of the time. The directing was ok but the cgi was awful as was most of the acting with only vinnie jones looking like a proper actor. The fights were the best thing about the film 2 short but sweet fights with arm locks etc...also the fight with the black guy at the end seagal uses a same move that he used on the train in us2 when he snaps the guys fingers.

overall 2/5

i think black dawn will not have dubbing as its was made by screen gems and was filmed in the us.

Hello. This is my first time posting so I guess I'll give my review. I must first mention that I can't really consider this to be a Steven Seagal movie. Sure his picture and name are on the cover and he is the lead star but I think of it as more of an Anthony Hickox film. It seems more like it was him trying to redeem himself after working on those 2 awful Dolph Lundgren movies (but I'm still a Dolph fan though). I like Hickox's early movies like the Waxwork series and Hellraiser 3 so It was quite a treat to see how well he did on this film.
I enjoyed Submerged. The dubbing was a little annoying but I tried to ignore it and enjoy the film as the action movie it is. Steven didn't do too bad. The Cajun accent was quite interesting and I loved the fights. I also enjoyed the presence of Vinnie Jones and Gary Daniels. I enjoyed many of their movies and was glad they were a part of this.
Another thing I liked about this movie was the quality. Maybe it was just me but the way it was filmed made it look like a Hollywood film (not exactly in the bad sense though the editing was a bit frustrating.)
I was glad to see that Steven could work with such a good director. It would be cool if Steven could work with Isaac Florentine, though. While he doesn't make theatrical quality movies, he makes darn good action movies like U S Seals 2 and Bridge of Dragons

I would have to disagree to that. I mean in some scenes ye I could understand why, when they were in the theater scene looked very Hollywood and the car chases, helicopter crash, etc.. But it looked cheap. The computer animated submarine, and at night the computerized view of the ocean, etc... I mean those parts looked like I was watching Sponge Bob Square Pants. :D

I heard underwater rumors that Spongebob has a dispute brewing up with Steven Seagal. We might get to see an underwater Aikido fight for the ruler of the sea ;) King Triton can be the referee ;)

And I thought "The Life Aquatic Was Bad" - Clearly he has no taste in strange off beat Comedies. Not everyone can appreciate Films of Wes Anderson. As far as worst films ever made I would suggest Ed Wood :)

I am a film buff in my late 50s and have been collecting videos and DVDs ever since they were first released. Only twice have I ever thought about throwing a newly-purchased $20 tape or disk into the trash, the first being the aforementioned Steve Zissou (Billy Murray) flick. (I successfully resisted that impulse and can now boast having what I believe is the worst movie ever made in my library.) The SECOND time I considered tossing a movie into the shredder followed a screening of "Submerged." I am proud to say I could not overcome that impulse . . . "Submerged" is now landfill, and I, for one, will never watch another SS movie again.

Used to be a Seagal fan

From the fake toy airplanes with wires to the voice dubbing chipmunk, this film has pushed me over the edge and I am denouncing my Seagal fanship. I've had enough of this fat donut eating, fake hair wearing, showing up late leaving early so the movie is filled with stunt men and walkers, loser. I cant take it anymore! How does this guy even find work? He's already being sued by Nu Image for showing up late and leaving early, causing his next two movies Today You Die and Mercenary to be filled with missing scenes, voice dubbing, and once again many stunt people. Who would want to work with this guy? Who would even give him a budget over 10 million? People, listen to me please, stop renting and buying his movies, he will continue to make these horrible films. Don't support this loser anymore!!!

Best Seagal Since Under Siege - I almost chocked on my drink when I read that. Like or hate Submerged all of as can agree on one simple thing. This film is no Under Siege. Far from it.

I have read all the other reviews so far about this movie which I have just watched with my family and we believe that this was by far the best movie that Stevn Seagal has been involved with since Under Siege. A very good flick.

I just want to add that ive been in contact recently with someone who has worked on one of the newer Seagal films and she/he told me that Seagal was indeed difficult to work with. I guess Nu-Image were right.

No Problemo Little Dragon :)

Billy did this person have any insight as to the amount of action scenes? Or any comments/information about the action in general?

Thanks for the information anyways. I keep checking the site time to time. I think we should see the Trailer soon enough for Today You Die and we can judge it then. Belly of the Beast Trailer premiered on there a month or so before I believe. Out of Reach was held up until the last minute. And what we received was a mere 40 second TV Spot. I am hopping for a decent Trailer.

You sure you weren't talking about Once Upon A Time In Mexico? Oh wait what am I saying that film was quite terrible too. Maybe it just made Submerged look better? ;)

Neither were terrible, I enjoyed both and it was nice to see movies I have not watched 50 times, maybe Once Upon a Time in Mexico I liked more!

That was a figure of speech ;) Yes new movies are always good things to watch. Sort of speed bumps along the road before you get to the next stop. Eventually one of those speed bumps being rewarding.
