I wrote that with the 2 minutes... Craig said there is much more...

I cannot say it 100% sure, because most Steven Seagal Movies i see in German. But i really can say it only in 2-3 scenes. I saw it on the scene were the camera is far away and the soldiers walking up the hill, and in some other scenes very short (1 or 2 words...) but i didn't hear more voice dubbing... But im not 100% sure... Although the movie is good. Watch it.
Unfortunately probably about 30-40% of the movie is dubbed. :( There seemed much more than normal in this movie.

Maybe subtitles are better.

Well, I've decided; no more Steven movies for me. I'll just enjoy the old ones, and save my dwindling disposable income for something else.

I agree. People think that the only thing Seagal should do is to fight, brake arms and legs, shoot and thats all. It's not true. Steven is an actor not a stupid killing machine. It's just like the same with Stallone. Everyone think that the only thing he should do is to play Rambo or Rocky. It's a stupid thing.

First of all..Seagal got known for his martial arts skills on the big screen .. so it is no surprise that people expect alot of hand to hand fighting .. & to be hornest his acting is nothing special. If he hadnt had his martial arts talent to use onscreen, he wouldnt have become so famous in the filmbuisness. He brought that onscreen carisma to Hollywood himself, & he cant expect people just letting go of it when he has been feeding us for so many years with the thing that he is good at .. fighting.

Second of all,you can't compare Stallone & Seagal.. Stallone is a waaay better actor than Seagal & can much easier survive of his actingskills than Seagal. If Seagal only had acting & no martial arts skills he would fail big time..

Third...this is a REVIEW Forum not a *seagal is neither this or that* Forum. So lets keep this as filmreviews!!

Submerged.

I dont have alot of time I gotta get to the supermarket to pick up some breakfast.. so here is a short review:

Its nothing special, only 2 fightscenes in total & they are verry short. The first fightscene is good though .. The second could have been good if the camerawork was handled better, Seagal's advesary in the last one had the look of a dude who was an worthy advesary, but it was over waaaay to quickly. The production was pretty good but it dosnt make up for the biiiig lack of fightscenes:rolleyes: which plays an central roll in ALL Seagal's movies. I didnt care much for Submerged, Into The Sun was waaaay better. But fortunatly Today You Die is allso coming out this year & it is a prison film & I like those... :)

I accept that this is a filreview forum, but I think that a filmreview should write about things that are in the film, and not what are missing from it.

submerged

hi everyone, i saw submerged yesterday , i just wanted to give my feelings about it, i think that is not better than into the sun, for these reasons :
- two very short and not exciting fight scenes, more than that, steven was very slow in two of them
-the costumes of steven seagal are ridiculous, he seems like a clown
-the idea of "mind control" were more for sf films

i hope that upcoming movies qill be better....

Submerged Review (Appologies For Wrong Place)

Here is my review for the WORST film in Steven Seagal history.

If for some reason you like dull, stupid, and pointless films, Submerged is the DVD for you. This movie was just plain terrible. I thought Into the Sun was terrible, but I was wrong...And even when I thought people were crazy for liking Into the Sun, I swear, if anybody says that they enjoyed this movie even a little bit, I'm checking you into a mental institution. I don't know how anybody could like this film! Tony Hickox...YOU SUCK! Your directing is straight up crap! I could find some random remedial 8 year old who can direct better than you.

But, the thing that really got to me was Steven Seagal. I mean, nothing against Seagal...But he was terrible. The writers didn't even give him the tough guy personality. And I'm mad because he's the one that looks bad.

For all the people who enjoy hearing Seagal getting his voice dubbed over, again, this is the DVD for you. Seagal's real voice is about 5% used in this film. Seagal is dubbed over by some 70 year old Bill Clinton who sounds like he just recovered from throat cancer, not joking! Seagal is dubbed over about 95% of this film, and when his real voice is used, you just want to cheer...Isn't there something wrong?

To add to that, the movie is titled Submerged and focuses on a submarine. The movie takes place on a submarine for a total of 50 minutes!!! Everything else takes place in a hispanic country (Bulgaria).

There is a total of 2, that's right, 2 action scenes. 1 of them is combat and is about 16 seconds long, and the other is part shooting and part combat (but this one is good - but short).

Here's a list of Positive and Negative:

Positive: Vinny Jones...'Nuff said.

Negative: Everything that doesn't invovle Vinny Jones (including Seagal). And yes, unfortunatley I'm DEAD serious. Seagal's role is pure crap and pure dubbing (as mentioned above). Seagal's covert team gets killed off within the first 40 minutes (and they're only on screen for 15 minutes).

Summary: The movie is just stalling. That's it, about 4/5 of this movie is pure waste of time. For example, there is a scene at an opera theater where Seagal is supposed to meet somebody important. 12 minutes of the film is back and fourth camera shots of the crowd clapping and some crap car chase.

I am really disapointed in this movie and Seagal, I mean he did nothing for me in this one. I feel like this movie is a waste of time and money. DO NOT BUY IT, whether you're curious or not, you're just going to end up very pissed and disapointed.

The only good thing that came out of this was Vinny Jones stealing the show. Good job...

Thats just not right!!! There are only 2 fight scenees, but there alot more action scenes. Steven Seagal cannot only do fightscenes, and his getting older every year!!! Here we have definitaly more than 2 action-scenes!

I said that with the 2 minutes, maybe its not 100% right, because im not 100% sure because i see most movies in german, but if there is 95% dubbing in the movie, i defniately have to change my ears.

First off, YES 95% of Seagal's voice is dubbed, no exageration. That is for the American version.

And yes only two action scenes. There's 2 scenes that are actually focused on, there's a scene at the opera house which is used for stalling and is pure crap, along with that very unrealistic, French Revolution-like shoot out, and he drives a BMW into a building. That's not action. Vinny Jones has a really cool scene where he beats the crap out of a sniper, that's a good scene...And there's this stupid chase scene that you see in about 20 different pieces, and 2 seconds a piece before the film cuts over to Seagal listening to opera...

The kitchen scene and office lobby scene are actions scenes. Unfortunatley those are goods ones too! It's a shame it's surrounded by the rest of the film.

Just wondering, have you seen the movie...?

Ah that's ridiculous having 95% of the movie dubbed. I don't see how anyone could like the movie that way.

You pretty much can't if you're a Seagal fan like me, or anyone else here. It's just plain stupid. I mean, I was so happy when ever I heard Seagal's real voice...doesn't that say something? And to add to that...the movie just down right sucked lol Directing sucked, nothing made sense, I was restless 30 minutes into it...It's a damn shame all these movies are so well-hyped but non of them live up to what I expect...So far that's 2 in a row...I enjoyed Belly of the Beast, Out For a Kill, and all his other DTV...At least they had something special...Like BOTB had cool Matrix camera effects, fast pace and on and off fighting, and probably Seagal's best final fight scene. OFAK was special because it was different from the normal Seagal movie and had some decent fighting...But this was rediculous. And the writing sucked too...Why does Seagal get the worst lines for such a cool, badass character.

Am I the only person who would now like to see Seagal take a break from the special ops / CIA Agent character and go back to dont-give-a-damn attitude cop like Nico Toscani. Or hell, maybe another comedy like The Glimmer Man - that was one of my favorites...

LOL. That pretty much sums up Submerged for me. You said you liked Out for a Kill and Belly of the Beast from the last films he made in the past years well I thought Out For a Kill was a really bad film, but Belly of the Beast is decent. Has some cool action scenes here and there. Me personally I think Into The Sun was his best film since Exit Wounds. I don't see why a lot of people hate that movie so much but I don't think its bad. Has some nice film locations and the action scenes were awesome in it. Also at least none of his lines in that movie were dubbed at all. Im looking forward to Today You Die the most anyways. Hopefully that film don't have any dubbing in it.

Exit Wounds was just awesome, I was busting up when I heard the dubbed voice. Also, Did you catch Seagals Double while he was driving the car? If you didn't, When Seagal is driving. Seagal's eyes look into the mirror to check to see how far they are behind him, Well...I saw some eyes that didn't look like his at all. Knowning me, Suzi will probably have a picture of it pretty soon lol

As of this writing I am 35 minutes into this piece of garbage Submerged...

I pine for the days of Gino Felino once again..

If Seagals teammates are all American ex- military, how come they all have friggin European accents?
Another Seagal turd.
