Sylvester Stallone's Career..............

I have just read over on another website that Stallone's next film role is in "Spy Kids 3" where he will play the villain. I suppose this will be good for Stallone financially as I would probably safe in predicting that this film will make a sh*t load of cash but you can't help but feel the guy is slumming it. Fair enough, at least it is being released in theaters which is more than some of his latest offerings have been but I predict Stallone's career has'nt long to go in the mainstream, at least in action movies anyway. (the guys 57!)

There were talk of a "Rocky VI" but he was told by MGM that he would have to cough up the money himself to make the movie as they were'nt going to. The question is what next for Stallone? He is an iconic figure in cinema regardless of acting ability when you consider he created to of films most popular characters -: Rocky and Rambo, so I don't think he will totally disapear from our screens but I can't see how he can extend his career.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Here is a list of my favourite Stallone films.

* Rambo: First Blood Part II
* Cliffhanger
* Rocky series (yes including V)
* Tango & Cash
* Demolition Man
* First Blood
* Copland

I put it on record that I thought "The Specialist" was one of the biggest piles of human excrement I've seen in my life!

What are other peoples opinion?

Peace.

One thing about the Rocky series-I think they're done with some common sense..they each had a new story line & even the last one they didn't try to bring him back as a boxer. If they did have another then they should have him as a trainer,but not his son as the fighter.

Good ones:

Rocky

Rambo (not so much the 3rd one)

Cobra

Nighthawks

Tango & Cash

Cliffhanger

Who the hell is Stallone?!It's been that long since he's had a hit,& with his latest two flicks going dtv it's not looking good for the Italian Stallion.He may be playing the bad guy roll in Spy Kids 3(something he had to do to get a considered hit),but the real turning point will be what he does next.I guess by returning to his most famous character-Rocky-he would see it as being a bonafide hit 'a la Arnuld in T3.It certainly seems,at least for the time being,that Stallone is stuck in dtv hell along with Van Damme.At least Seagal has both dtv & forthcoming theatrical releases lined up.

Well, I gotta admire what these big fellas have done the last 20 years, I think it will be very hard to have another decade as we had in the 80's, Arnold, Van Damme, Stallone, Bruce Willis, and of course, Mr. Hold On Your Chair, the action king, Steven Seagal.
