Schwarzenegger Calls New Terminator Script 'Fantastic,' Reveals Production Details. http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=115504

Production on the latest Terminator film is set to begin this April and unlike the previous entry, Arnold Schwarzenegger will be returning to the franchise, presumably as one of the titular robots. Speaking at a fan even at the Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus (via The Arnold Fans), Schwarzenegger was very optimistic about the shoot and gave some new details about locations and his thoughts on the script.
"We start filming in the middle or in the end of April and it will be a four or four-and-a-half month long shoot. We will be filming it in New Orleans with some of it in San Francisco and maybe a little of it in LA but most of it will be done in New Orleans. I'm really looking forward to that because as you know, the last time when they did the Terminator, it was when I was Governor and so I couldn't be in that movie but now I'm back again and they are very excited about having me in the film... The script is fantastic so I'm really looking forward to this film."

The first in a stand-alone trilogy, the new Terminator will also star Jason Clarke, Emilia Clarke, and Jai Courtney. David Ellison will produce with Laeta Kalorgridis (Avatar, Shutter Island) and Patrick Lussier (Drive Angry) attached to write the screenplay.

Set to be directed by Thor: The Dark World's Alan Taylor, the film will open in theaters on July 1, 2015.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Reveals Terminator: Genesis Plot Details!

With production on Terminator: Genesis set to begin next month, details are beginning to emerge about what fans can expect for the franchise's fifth big screen entry. Speaking with MTV, star Arnold Schwarzenegger reveals that the script calls for multiple versions of his T-800, including a "young" take!

"Terminator deals a lot with time travel," the former California Governor tells the outlet, "so there will be a younger T-800, and then [there is] what that model does later on when it gets reprogrammed, and who gets ahold of him. So it will be all kinds of interesting twists in the movie."

Schwarzenegger goes on to explain the film's solution to having his robotic character looking three decades older than he did in the James Cameron original.

"The way that the character is written, it's a machine underneath," he says. "It's this metal skeleton. But above that is human flesh. And the Terminator's flesh ages, just like any other human being's flesh. Maybe not as fast. But it definitely ages."

The first in a stand-alone trilogy, the new Terminator will also star Jason Clarke, Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney and J.K. Simmons.

Interesting news, DiDa -- thanks! I like this guy a lot -- how ever his name is spelled LOL (I've seen it at least three different ways online). I thought he really made the movie Red 2 -- though Bruce Willis can do almost no wrong as far as I'm concerned. LOL Though Lee looks young, he's no kid, and with his role as Storm Shadow in the last couple of G.I. Joe movies, I think he's done a lot of good toward helping to keep the action genre interesting for the younger generation (although movies like the Avengers, Transformers, X-men, etc. have done their share :D). I too can see him being good in this role.

I'm looking forward to this! I hope this is successful enough so that the trilogy does work out. Between this, The Expendables 3, and A Good Man, among others, there's a lot for us action fans to look forward to!

Forgot to ask this, but I've read a few different articles about Matt Smith (a.k.a. the last former Dr. Who) being signed to the cast. I don't see anything about it here and wonder if any of you guys have heard this? It was in too many different half-way "respectable" articles to be just gossip -- but you never know. LOL This was a partial quote from The Guardian:

"Studio Paramount said Smith.....would play would play a "new character with a strong connection to John Connor". Connor is the leader of the anti-machine resistance in the man versus robots sci-fi saga, and will be played by Zero Dark Thirty's Jason Clarke in Terminator: Genesis."

"The thing is, I've been implanted with a chip where, if I talk about it, my head explodes," said Smith during a question and answer session at Wizard World Minneapolis. "All I can say about Terminator is that I'm very excited to be part of the Terminator franchise because those movies – those first two movies, particularly – are brilliant. Yeah, it's very exciting."

LOL @ head exploding. :D

What have you guys heard?
