New Fast 8 cast photo and first trailer coming in December..

After an interesting week with some back-and-forth comments between Dwayne Johnson and some of the other Fast 8 cast members, the production has announced that their #FastFriday posts have ended and that we’ll get the first trailer in December. Although it’s not a Universal Pictures release, we’re guessing you’ll get to see the trailer in theaters with Rogue One: A Star Wars Story on December 16, although Universal does have Sing opening just a few days later.

Here’s the Facebook post.

For our final ‪#‎FastFridays‬ post, all of us in the Fast Family wanted to thank you for coming on the ride with us during this epic production.
We began in Cuba, visited Iceland, New York and Atlanta, and as we head into our final few days of shooting, we wanted to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to those who have worked so hard over the past 100 days to bring you a movie that is going to be another incredible installment of our saga. Everything we do comes from our shared passion to bring you the very best.

Thank you Vin, who has been at the wheel since this journey began, first as star and then as producer…

And thanks to all of the cast of the eighth Fast:

Michelle, who’s also been with us from the start…

Those who’ve joined our family along the way: Tyrese and Chris from Miami in our second film; Dwayne and Elsa, who came on board in Rio in movie five; Jason, Nathalie and Kurt from last time around; and our newest members Charlize, Scott, Kristofer and Helen

And our brother who continues to inspire us all, Paul.

We extend our gratitude to our new director F. Gary Gray, producers Neal Moritz and One Race Films, writer Chris Morgan, and the hundreds of awesome, dedicated crew members who worked their asses off.
All of us take our work on Fast & Furious seriously, and we seriously intend to wow the world again. We’ll be back in December with your first look at what we’ve created for you.

Your Fast Family.

Directed by Straight Outta Compton helmer F. Gary Gray, Fast 8 is planned to launch a new trilogy of films when it hits theaters on April 14, 2017. Fast 8 will be followed by a ninth film to be released April 19, 2019 and a tenth film planned to hit theaters April 2, 2021. Fast and Furious 8, 9 and 10 aren’t the only films new that Universal has planned for the franchise, either. It was recently revealed that plans are underway for both Fast and Furious spinoffs and prequels.
The Fast 8 cast is confirmed to include franchise regulars Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, ChrisLudacrisBridges, Elsa Pataky, Nathalie Emmanuel and Lucas Black reprising their roles as street racers-turned-international criminals-turned-super-secret agents. Jason Statham, Dwayne Johnson and Kurt Russell are confirmed to return as well. Charlize Theron is confirmed to play the villain, with Kristofer Hivju as one of her henchmen. Scott Eastwood will be playing a protégé of Russell’s Mr. Nobody and Dame Hellen Mirren has also joined the cast.
