I agree that Seagal will never perform like he did in his 30s or even his 40s, however that still does not mean he can't make the effort to be a decent action star. As a current example you only have to take Sylvester Stallone and his films Rocky Balboa (2006) and Rambo (2008) made when Stallone was 60 and 62 respectively.

I know Marky and you made a good point. Maybe Stallone got more dicipline and more time to get back in shape. Plus Stallone doesn't make as many movies a year like SS does.

Just my opinion that's all!!:)

Well perhaps if Seagal would make less films per year then he would have time to get in shape. Stallone also never let himself get out of shape like Seagal has.

Could someone tell me how he killed the guy in the final fight? For me it looked that he used his hand like a knife. Very strange. Reminds me to his very realistic looking melon-trick in Shadow Man.

He thrusted his fingertips in the guys throat (without getting any blood on his fingers, amazing ;)). It's a bit like the fight Swayze had in Roadhouse where he ripped some guys adams apple out.

Post your reviews of The Keeper in this thread.
I just want to say that this is his best best film in quite a while, although I absolutely love driven to kill. However Kill Switch was a bit strange.

I watched it a few days ago.

It was a fun movie but at the beginning i thought ahh no not again a voice dubbing movie but the rest of the movie was fine, nice storyline, nice locations, but the ending was a bit.. weak

i wil give this movie a 7.5 out of 10:)

I have already seen the movie twice. I think that it is an aboveaverage movie in the action genre. It deserves around 65% in my opinion. It is almost at the same level as Fire Down Below, but I missed aikido fights. Overall it is a top STV movie. Seagal still can kick ass. He only needs more money for his movie. I want a cinena movie now. Steven, please do it!!!

They need to get a hold of his SSN card and find out if he is Roland Sallinger or Roland Ballinger. How the hell does the edit team miss something like that??? Were they watching Sesame Street and eating Fruity Pebbles while they were editing the film???

The Keeper ranks up there with my very favorite Seagal movies, all, not just DTV ones.

I'm not sure if anyone else got the same feeling from it, but it really is special to me just from the perspective of where I am in my life right now.

Also, some quality movie making techniques helped that feeling along.

One big example of this is early in the movie when his Roland is rehabilitating and taking meds along the way.

There are several scenes of him exercising, throwing knives and taking pills, and as far as I could see, none of them were duplicates of each other.

After noticing several of these in Driven To Kill, it was on my mind a bit, and I might have just missed it, but it really did look like each of those scenes was filmed separately, which added to the feeling of a quality film for me personally.

Another thing story-wise that I really liked was the way he pretended to be dead after he was shot, peeking through his eyelids to see what was going on, something I always wonder why no one ever does if they are too hurt to run or fight, don't let the bad guy know you're alive, he'll just finish you off!

Anyway, I liked that touch, thought it was rather unique and cool.

Another thing that really gave it that special feeling was the scene where he looks at himself in the mirror for a minute, then just sort of wistfully shakes his head.

I sure know that feeling!

Also, I admit I don't really like the way he so often ends up with some girl who is half his age or even less. It just doesn't look right to me.

I was afraid this was going to go that way with his friends daughter he was guarding, but happily it never materialized.

One thing I know has been mentioned several times is the way his last name seemed to change during the movie, not sure exactly what happened with that, but it was pretty minor to me, since they only used his last name a couple of times.

I loved all the action scenes, the brief hand to hand fights, the great car chase and the end showdown.

What a cool death scene where he took out that last goon of that Cross guy!

I like his relationship with the chauffeur and his cousin and her brothers too, very nice to see him interact with some “regular” people like that.

Loved the conversation between them when the daughter got sick on the way home from the club and they had to stop the car!

I liked that his friend turned out to really be a good guy, they made me wonder for a bit, and once again, some of the big baddy's get to live to go to jail.

I do wish Seagal would have kicked Mason's butt sometime in there, but it was still a very satisfying ending.

The topper was as Seagal was walking out at the end, heading down the steps into the night and does that big sort of sigh of relief, such a great human touch, I just love this movie.

I've seen about 4 of the pictures he's made with Keoni Waxman now, and love ever one of them, I wouldn't mind if he made them with him from now on.

Well, maybe throw in Don Fauntleroy and Reine as well, what great pictures these guys have made with Seagal.

I know, this movie and movies like it might not be everybody's cup of tea, but they really are right up my alley, I am enjoying watching these more than I ever could have hoped for when I decided to get caught back up.

From my personal perspective, from Urban Justice right up to A Good Man, with those couple of hiccups excluded, Steven has been on a great roll as far as fun, quality action movies are concerned.

Can hardly wait for what's next.

Take care,

Kevin

I just picked this up on a Region B Blu Ray. The disc won't play; all I get is a screen that I think says my player is the wrong region. (It's in a foreign language so I can't read it.) Well, my player can play regions A, B, and C. The movie is listed as Region B on the back. I tried playing the disc back on all three regions. No luck. I double checked my player with other Region B discs and those play fine. I'm disappointed because I wanted to watch this.

Do any of you have this on the Region B Blu? Have you been able to play it?

Yep, I've got it on Blu-ray (several times) and it plays fine. Can you send a screenshot of both the case and disc and I'll see if I can help?

If your player has no problems playing region B/2 then it sounds like you got a bad rip bootleg....
sometimes when they try and record multiple discs at he same time they get screwed up

Where did you purchase it form?
I'd get a replacement(they won't give your money back)
