Not sure if it was already asked/mentioned and there is 16 pages in this thread to go through, but is Seagal playing the same character as in The Good Man and Force of Execution (neither I have gotten to watch yet)? His name on all three in IMDB is "Alexander".

I think on the making of A GOOD MAN, that Waxman mentions that it was initially intended to be a continuation of the 'Mr Alexander' story. But each backstory contradicts the other, so I think they've just left it up in the air and any resemblance in purely coincidental at this stage?

Exactly! First Waxman told us that A Good Man and Absolution were going to be prequals of Force Of Execution. As you said, eventually they letf it up in the air. But he is named Alexander in these 3 movies.

I have to say that I don't like this cover. It's too Obvious and simple, but it's better then the UK cover. I am wondering what we in Holland will get.

To the question of Alexander. Well these movies may not directly linked together, but is this really terrible?
If we know that Seagal's character is the same, just another story with him I don't bother.

Personally I like the Australian cover. Sure DiDa, it is simple, but you have to admit that this one, is featuring no helicopters, right?
It is not that I don't like helicopters, but it is funny that so many Seagal DVD covers feature helicopters and sometimes they don't appear in the movie right?

Another cover artwork is welcome, but I also have to agree that the UK cover looks cheap. By the way did you contact Splendid a second time? Or will you wait until they reply to you?

I enjoy having the ubiquitous helicopter on the covers, even if it's not in the story

They changed the title to Absolution, for VOD. I had a feeling they might drop "The Mercenary" part.

Many VOD services list movies in alphabetical order, so titles starting with a number or A are on the top, which is why so many DTV or VOD movies have names starting with a number or A, like A Good Man.

I also have a feeling Van Damme's Pound of Flesh will be re-titled A Pound of Flesh for the same reason.

According to this site, “Absolution” gets a limited theatrical and VOD release starting May 15 in USA:
http://moviepilot.com/posts/2015/03...tion-poster-2773987?lt_source=external,manual

Is my interpretation of this article correct?

Is it correct that would be the first time a Seagal movie will get a release like that? Or did some other of his recent movies got limited theatrical releases in USA?

Don't know if other dtv movies got a limited release but it seems that Absolution gets one.

They have been experimenting with this lately. It sounds great but in all honesty it will likely play in one theatre for a week. These deals are made merely as an incentive for people to rent it VOD. They see that its also in theatres and they can watch it at home, which sounds cool to many people. Most times you will be hard pressed to find it in a theatre. Regardless I am glad they are changing it up. That poster is a ripoff of the bourne legacy poster. Look it up.
