The Path Beyond Thought Cover?

Hi everyone I'm new on this site/forum so I would first like to say a big hello to everyone.

I've got the DVD of The Path Beyond Thought but it didn't come with a cover. I've been trying to find a full scan of the original VHS cover as I'm very creative in doing replica covers in DVD format. I'm a big fan of Steven and have been for years now and I have everything he's done, I was lucky enough to get the special edition of Lawman and The Path Beyond Thought was a bonus DVD, however due to my ex wife destroying half of my collection it made me replace a few items. I replaced everything and got lucky with my DVD of The Path Beyond Thought as it was still in the DVD player when I picked my stuff up. This all happened back in 2009 and since I'm now re-married to a wonderful person I've started to get back into collecting again as I've been collecting Stevens movies and I even have the Australian DVD box sets of True Justice as the UK box sets are missing a DVD out of both sets.

It was only today I was sorting out my DVD collection putting them in order on the shelf and I come across a case that had a sticker on it say SSTPBT and when I opened it I saw my DVD of The Path Beyond Thought and I've been thinking to myself all day that I would love it to have a cover.

So if anyone on here has the original VHS/Video still and would be willing to scan in the full cover and email it to me at cjhorton@elvisfan.com or if someone could upload it on here for me to save as long as it's big I can then make myself a DVD cover for it. From one fan to every other fan on here it would mean the world to me.

Many thanks
CJ

Hi CJ Horton, first of all a big welcome to the site. Hope you will enjoy yourself a lot here.

I had the VHS and transfered it to dvd and made a dvd cover myself from the vhs cover. Will have to dive into my archives though, so it may take a few days.

Peace

Hello......I'd like to know if the DVD version was remastered or is it just a copy of the VHS transferred to DVD format
thanks

It's just a transfer to DVD. Although in my opinion it is one of better quality then I have seen around on the net. Didn't have the means at that time to upgrade the quality of the transfer.

Or do you mean the official one CJ Horton has?

Peace

Yeah.......the supposed official one, I remember asking this question years ago when the 'Lawman' premiere set came out.....never got an answer....It came with a copy of his Thunderbox music CD also.....I seriously doubt that the footage to PBT got any kind of remastering due to it being more of a novelty item....it only has 2 Lawman episodes, and came packaged in a mini vest......but I've always wondered about the PBT DVD ever since they claimed it would be released on DVD back in the Exit Wounds day when it 1st showed up along with an autographed 8 inch doll.
It never materialized back in 2000 as also the announced music DVD never did either.
I seem to recall people waiting months to just get the VHS of PBT...so that told me they were making them 'on-demand'.
When PBT showed up in 2009 I became curious.

It was a digital transfer on DVD, I only bought the lawman special limited edition for The Path Beyond Thought because I had the complete box set of Lawman at the time, and still do along with the complete season 2 of Lawman.

Digital transfers can vary in quality due to how it's processed. I would say it has been done very well but not for a single DVD release on it's own, to which I think personally it never happed as a separate single DVD release.

There is a full concert of Steven on youtube but I've never seen a VHS or DVD of it, so I've downloaded it and will be making a cover for it and putting it on DVD for my collection. Also his Bio I have now put to DVD and I've got the original music video of Girl It's Alright from the TV company which I have put on the bio DVD as a bonus along with Sheep Impact. Now the music video for Girl It's Alright is not recorded from TV or downloaded I bought it from the TV company.

Thank you Kotegashi for the cover , I have created it in DVD format and will upload it in a few days and you can tell me what you think as it's a replica of the VHS cover so I would like to thank you so much, you've really made my collection complete.

Now I don't sell the DVD's I create, I create them purely for my collection. I don't mind trading but that's as far as it goes.. If we can help each other I don't see any harm in that..

Ok....thanks for replying....I just had been wondering if the PBT had been remastered or at least cleaned up some of the old dojo footage that's in it...back in the late '90's I had some e-mail communication with the Ten Shin Bugei Gakuen dojo in CA...I asked about obtaining some of Seagal's seminar footage, they told me that all the seminars had been video taped and were available to any student to view but not allowed to copy it....even offered to let me view it if I came out there, so I knew at the time there was seminar video and was pretty excited when I saw the VHS of PBT available 10 years later...only other Seagal seminar footage I've seen available was on e-bay...it was taken from some balcony at a distance so I knew there was no sound and wasn't worth checking it out....the other thing I wanted to know was if they had any more of the black jackets with the red calligraphy they used to sell for $50(they sold white ones with the Ten Shin logo also for $25)..I saw them advertised on some of the dojo newsletters that they had subscriptions for...by the time I was able to get some of the newsletters...both jackets had been long gone.
because I had the complete box set of Lawman at the time, and still do along with the complete season 2 of Lawman.
I liked the Lawman series myself....I have them both too but had to get season 3 from the Reelz channel...I doubt season 3 will ever get a DVD release.

No....PBT was never released in DVD form tho' back in 2000 it was supposed to come out....well....so was a music DVD of Seagal...neither materialized.
There is a full concert of Steven on youtube but I've never seen a VHS or DVD of it, so I've downloaded it and will be making a cover for it and putting it on DVD for my collection.
maybe try to write and see of you can obtain the raw footage...I do it for people and others have done for me...
Also his Bio I have now put to DVD
the Bio Channel one?....there's also a E-True Hollywood one...those are the only 2 bio's I've ever seen on Seagal and there has only been 2 full magazines on him as far as I know.
and I've got the original music video of Girl It's Alright from the TV company which I have put on the bio DVD as a bonus along with Sheep Impact. Now the music video for Girl It's Alright is not recorded from TV or downloaded I bought it from the TV company.
I bought the collector's edition of 'Songs from the Crystal Cave'...it came with a DVD of the video and a flip-thru bio...I think that was the 3rd version of the music CD...the songs got a different arrangement on side 1 and they also thru in a bonus track.....the 1st version was only available from France and it came with a little poster of the cover, the 2nd version had the rearranged side 1 and the bonus track, the 3rd was the 2 disc set with the 'Girl It's Alright' video and bio.
Probably should have just written a PM to you didn't mean to go on so long but I have an interest in the 80-90's Seagal era....I do have a few of his DTVs I bought but to be honest I gave up on them around the 'Out of Reach'/'Clementine' releases...actually I remember selling my 'Out Of Reach' right after watching it....it's funny because I used to buy DVDs from a guy in China so I didn't have to wait for the US release....'Ticker' had already been in theaters when 'Exit Wounds' was playing in the US...I guess the internet changed all that because now it's easy to download bluray copies of whatever due to the increased speed and no limitations on gigs anymore.(well in the US that is)

Thanks didn't realize there was a full concert online, guess it is this one? If so it would be nice if it had a higher resolution available.

...actually I remember selling my 'Out Of Reach' right after watching it....

I didn't even know there was a season 3 of Lawman and I didn't know about the official release of the album with the music video on, this is very great information to which I thank you for.

Yes it would be great to have an official live DVD of Steven.

Are there any links for the season 3 of lawman ??? would really love that on DVD.

Season 3 is not available from anywhere. Reelz channel was the last place airing them.

There was a professionally shot show at Shepherd's Bush a few years ago that was supposed to be released, but so far nothing. There are a few clips from it on YouTube, etc..

Oh yeah.....after the Louisiana episodes ended with a lawsuit....he moved over to Arizona and was able to get 8 episodes finished before that ended in a lawsuit also......it was fan-labled as Lawman the 'lost season' until Reelz TV channel picked it up along with the original 2 seasons from A&E.....the Reelz TV site has a number of clips from the series and just last December ran the complete series 3 in one night.

I found this video interesting because it had to be filmed around 2013 due to his beard.

Probably never going to happen...tho' I was looking thru some videos on YT today and they have quite a few from the 2014 tour in 720p so that isn't bad quality at all and some look professionally shot, the Seagal 'concerts' were only an hour long at the most so it isn't hard to amass a somewhat good representation of what one was like....as you said there is a complete on on there already

Are there any links for the season 3 of lawman ??? would really love that on DVD.
Only way you're going to be able to do that is download the episodes and burn your own DVD....I had all 3 seasons of Lawman and both seasons of True Justice(TV version) posted here in this forum but I see now that site I had them on deleted all my accounts

Actually this concert is not bad at all....it has good audio and video because it was professionally shot and it's only from last summer. I remember reading some reviews of his concerts and they all say that there is little if any talk between songs and Seagal changes guitars almost every song....which is seen in the video...
from what I can find on the fest site:
https://www.facebook.com/pages/HONDARRIBIA-BLUES-FESTIVAL/93351236843
(go back to July 2014)
Seagal did a 'meet & greet' on the 9th...

played on the 10th

and this was aired on RTV 2 on the 24 of July.

thanks for posting this concert...I like it myself

Do you have Lawman season 3 on DVD yourself ? If so would you sell me a copy or maybe do a trade? I would really love to have season 3. I'm in proses of putting that concert onto DVD myself for my collection. Also how could I get my hands on the frensh version of the album with the DVD as there is no sound on the one on youtube, plus it would be great to have the original. I have both albums but just the standard versions.
