Three Seasons

Just saw a movie that knocked me out, and I wanted to share w/ y'all, 'cause it's a great one. THREE SEASONS (1999). Wow!!!! It's as good as Eat, Drink, Man, Woman (Ang Lee who did Crouching Tiger) and Not One Less (Zhang Yimou who did all the famous Gong Li flicks, like To Live, Raise Red Lantern, Story of Qie Ju, etc).

In fact, Ang is Taiwan's best moviemaker, and Zhang is Mainland China's Golden Child. So, this GREAT movie is by Vietnam's best film-maker (Tony Bui).

Anyway, it's 4 or 5 stories (which take place in modern-day Saigon) that steadily converge as the movie progresses. The photography is gorgeous, and the movie has a big-budget feel. DON'T MISS THIS ONE--YOU'LL BE SORRY!!

Also, "The Harve" Keitel is in it--yep, Mr. Bad Lieutenant/Resevoir Dog himself. And--as usual--he's great too! He plays a Marine vet from Viet War, who's returned to make peace w/ the Amer-asian child (a beauty) he left behind. Get the handkerchiefs ready--Joy Luck Club's ain't got nothing on this for pure emotional power.

Well Metrodee..having built web sites of my own-you're only allowed to have so many topics & so probably he would have to get rid of something else that is more important.
