Dear fellow Seagal fans, I just checked Amazon.jp and they have 3 new Seagal Blu-ray releases coming soon! Japan Blu-rays are Region A and playable in the United States, Canada, & other Region A countries. I already own 2out of 3. I pre-ordered Ticker! It was the follow up to Exit Wounds. Idk Ticker was a decent Seagal movie compared to the likes of Attack Force, Black Dawn, & The Foreigner.

The 3 new Region A blu-ray movies are:

Ticker (2001)

Just in few countries. Fortunately, Ticker did not get a theatrical release in France. I hate this movie, I think this is one of the worst DTV Seagal's movie.

When initially released, TICKER did indeed look bad (compared to his earlier big budget films) In retrospect (given some of the dreck he's made since) it's a fairly competent action thriller (with an above average cast) To be honest, I quite enjoyed it when it first came out (I saw it about a year before it was commercially released) I think Albert Pyun did a pretty good job (given the meagre resources he had at hand) Hopefully a Region B Blu-ray release will come soon?
Both OUT FOR A KILL and TODAY YOU DIE have been released on blu-ray in Germany and Italy (haven't got TODAY YOU DIE yet)

Pyun also released a Director's Cut of Ticker which is quite revealing and has a far better performance from Seagal. The fight scenes are still limited (then again, they were merely looped in the theatrical cut) but the story is much more coherent, and there's a lot more Zen-isms in Seagal's character design.

The film starts with an excellent monologue from Seagal talking in a Bushido-esque fashion about freeing yourself from thoughts of death in order to defuse bombs.

It's leagues apart from the botched final cut, and it's only a shame that it's comparably poor VHS-style quality. Worth checking out - Pyun himself sends out signed copies (I think you either email him or find it off his facebook page) and I'd look to investigate this in preference to a Blu-ray of the Theatrical Cut.

He did the same for Van Damme's Cyborg, again to great effect; it's only a shame that the DC of Cyborg features a largely dubbed Van Damme voiceover which really doesn't work at all. Again, story-wise, it's a much more considered effort, with a far stronger backstory (the flashbacks are almost their own story) and more development with the daughter.

We need "Fire Down Below", "The Glimmer Man", and "On Deadly Ground" to go the bluray.

Yep....that's what I'm waiting for....they seemed to have stopped with Under Siege II....then jump to 'Exit Wounds'
Considering that Seagal states in interviews that the 3 films he was actually 'proud' of were 'Above The Law' 'On Deadly Ground' & "Fire Down Below'...

I just read in an Amazon comment that 'Fire Down Below' went STV in the UK when it came out.....go figure :)

In France as well. I think FDB went to DTV in some countries because the movie failed in US (6 millions for the opening weekend and 16 millions gross in US).

But no comparaison. FDB is much bettert that Ticker. I like it.
