Under Siege 3

He has no film credits on Imdb and his resume only lists his military credits.

I wish them well, but if they're serious about this, maybe they should hire a professional writer?

The first script version is usually just for the idea and the general setting of the movie. Once excepted, usually they hire the more expierenced writers for rewrites and come up with the final version.

If I recall correctly for example, they had 6 different screenwriters on The Predator (the one with Arnold) and just picked the best bits out of them.

Peace

Under siege 3 Just a cook. :D Funny working title :p ..

Lets hope this will happen. One thing is woddie writing a first draft/idea for the story/script, another thing is if Warner Brothers or whatever they are called these days, still has the rights to the franchise.

First of all. I dont wanna see a overweight Casey Ryback.

Second of all. I dont wanna see a lame dtv attempt on Under Siege 3.

What would you guys like to see? Maybe Under Siege on a cruise ship where Ryback is the cook. Or in a hospital? I have the feeling they are going for Under Siege on a militairy base.

From Seagal's official facebook page

Friends, who would like to see Casey Ryback in another adventure? I had a great time making these movies for the fans. Let me where you'd like to see the action take place in a future installment...and Remember nobody beats me in the kitchen.

So maybe he really is trying to get part 3 made...

It would be interesting, but seems unlikely....the first post on this thread about the possibility of US3 dates back to 2013 :D

It won't happen, everyone know this. And if it did, I'd hope for: a bigger budget than his films in the last 15 years easily, for him to make an effort and actually have some charisma like he used to, and not be dubbed over or use stunt doubles 90% of the time, and lose some weight, the beard and glasses. But it's way too late for this to happen.

Probably not but you never know. I would rather him go back to making urban thrillers or a regular cop movie. I'm sick of the CIA stuff and convoluted plots. His fights in Attrition and General Commander prove he is still capable of doing decent fight scenes.

Casey Ryback spent the last 25 years eating at McDonalds and now his ex-wife is kidnapped and he travels to Romania in order to save her.

That would be a realistic plot for a current Seagal movie.

It could be good if he has the (financial) backing of a major studio and they aim for a theatrical release.
I mean, if Seagal is really up for it and wants to make it work he has a long road ahead to get in some sort of shape fitting the character (in relation to his age). I mean his Exit Wounds physique was perfect for the role at that time. He was in a reasonable shape in Ruslan.

So not impossible, but i'm afraid impropable.

And as far as the CIA stuff, depends. I won't mind if it is given enough thought and worked out accordingly (you need a healthy budget to realise it).

I'm not holding my breath for under siege 3 but if it happens cool. I do like some of the CIA stuff like absolution and contract to kill but it seems like that's the only types of movies he does these days. It would be cool if he added a little variety to his projects.

In my opinion, Under Siege 3 is possible to develop. It doesn't necessarily need to be a Warner Brothers production - it could be co-produced by one or more countries outside the US such as Russia, China, film, and/or others in which there is still a decent market for his output. If it is a good film, I don't think the audience will be bothered by who paid for it or where it was filmed. The main concerns are a good story, decent production values, and enthusiasm by Seagal.

A simple story which plays to the age of the character as well as Seagal's current abilities is all that is needed. Casey Ryback has expatriated to Russia or an Asian country. Working as a part time chef in a hotel, or a volunteer chef at an organisation, either of which set the scene for a hostage situation. That would allow the action to be more tactical rather than physical. Perhaps a notable costar to draw in a broader action film audience, but not a star like Jackie Chan who would completely overshadow it - maybe someone like Statham or Lundgren.
