Van Damme to star in new Asterix movie..

Belive it or not,Jean Claude Van Damme is going to be in the new Asterix film  I only saw a little part of the first film & it wasn't a sucess. He should stick to more martial arts/action movies.

Van Damme to star in new Asterix movie.
PARIS - Belgian Hollywood star Jean-Claude Van Damme is to star alongside French actor Alain Delon in a third film of the adventures of those heroic cartoon Gauls, Asterix and Obelix.

Indian actress Aishwarya Rai also gets a role in "Asterix at the Olympics" which is due to start filming next May in Morocco or Tunisia, with a scheduled release date in December 2007, publishers Editions Albert Rene told AFP Wednesday.

Gerard Depardieu will once again play the heavyweight Obelix who owes his strength to falling into a cauldron of magic potion as a baby, but it has yet to be decided who will fill Asterix's shoes, with Christian Clavier not taking up the role again.

Delon will play Julius Caesar seeking to quell the pesky Gaul resistance, while Van Damme will don a toga to play Roman athlete Cornedurus.

The first Asterix film, "Asterix and Obelix: Mission Cleopatra" was a box-office hit in France and was followed by "Asterix and Obelix against Caesar."

In france and Belgium, the 2 Aterix movies had success. there are not my kind of movies but still you can wathc them once. But j-c Van damme in the 3rd one is really stupid. I wonder how people here are gonna see this?

Disposition Seagal
Well, if I'm not watching new Seagal movies anymore you can bet your ass that I'm not watching new Van Damme movies. In Hell was a decent movie and for me, that is probably the last of his I'll watch. I'd rather watch a mediocre Seagal movie than a good Van Damme movie for the most part. I guess you could say that I'm really not watching many movies with martial artists these days and I'm exploring other genres.

The Asterix movies are the largest budget movies in France of all time, each one was a mega success. The first one was actually released in the US and it had 9 million admissions in France. The second had 14 million admissions in France and made almost 80 million in the box office there. This role is HUGE for Van Damme!

And him getting the role probably has to due with his critically acclaimed role in Narco. It was a small role but left critics surprised at how well his acting had become. Then Wake of Death came out to theatres in France and once again his acting was well received.

I must say things are looking up for Van Damme! Hopefully Seagal can turn his life around too.

No I'm not

And obviously you don't seem to know what you're talking about, I mean you said the films werent a success. When infact they were mega successes!

You probably would've said Narco would **** up his career too, when all it did was great things for him.

He has a role in a popular big budget film, how that is bad, I dont know? But I do know that if Seagal had a role in something like Meet the Fockers, everyone here would be doing cartwheels and setting off fire works.

you know you don't have to roll your eyes everytime you write something, it doesn't make you look any smarter. Maybe instead of shouting and rolling your eyes you could give a valid point to your argument. Stop behaving like a child.
