It's funny how we can all agree that we like Seagal movies, but we can't agree on any other action films!!!

Cleveland, Ohio

Hey CharlesJones - Mr. Clevelend ... LOL ... somehow whenever I think of Cleveland, it reminds me of that Drew Carry show ... something to laugh about ... how is it overthere

Cleveland is cool to live. I don't wanna live anywhere else. When i think of Cleveland, i don't think of Drew Carey LOL. I think of Halle Berry & Steve Harvey who are both from Cleveland. Black actresses Kim Whitley & Vanessa Bell Calloway are from here also. I really love it here in the summer cause Cleveland got some hot women. I liked Training Day movie & i'm glad Denzel won a oscar for it. I saw previews for his new movie Man On Fire. I wanna check that out.

that theme song - gotta get it out of my head; Metallica is the best way to cure such

It's that damn theme song that's stuck in my head now where at the end they all shout "Cleveland Ohio .. Ohio .. Ohio .." LOL
Yeah Man on Fire looks like it's got some great potential, and I didn't know that Halle Berry was from Cleveland (her Bond appearence didn't do her justice though :=).

Appearances may be distracting...

I liked Halle's character in James Bond movie. My favorite Halle movie is Strictly Business with Tommy Davidson, Samuel Jackson, Joseph Philips. I love that movie. Joseph cracks me up trying to get at Halle.

A similar thing in HPD:

I don't recall that movie (but I probably have seen it though). The same sort of thing cracked me up in Half Past Dead when all those prisoners were hitting on (well, they tried ... and I can't blame them :=)) 49'er six (Nia's character), and when JaRule was doing fighting scenes against her, she actually on a few occasions was hitting him for real because he was really hitting on her as the shooting of the movie was going on.

But yeah, that sort of stuff is funny...

Strictly Business was one of Halle's bigger role movies when she first came on the scene. I think The Last Boy Scout movie with Bruce Willis & Damon Wayans was her first movie but she had a small part in that cause she got killed. Do u remember her in Jungle Fever movie with Wesley Snipes & Samuel Jackson? She was Samuel's crackhead buddy LOL. I don't blame Ja Rule for hittin on Nia Long while filming. Nia Long is very attractive. She used to be married to r&b singer Howard Hewett who sang in the group Shalamar. I heard that Wesley Snipes was hittin on Jennifer Lopez during filming of Money Train movie & she turned him down but he kept trying to holla at her LOL. As black as he is, i'm surprised he gets any sex LOL. He doesn't wanna be bothered with black women for some reason. He said that in a interview a long time ago that black women get on his nerves cause of their attitude problems. He dates mostly chinese women. I love black women even though i don't like their attitudes either & they're very cocky which i also dislike cause they be having their noses in the air like they're the s**t.

I'm a action movie junkie. My favorites are Cobra, Rambo First Blood, Rambo First Blood part 2, Tango & Cash, Lethal Weapon 1 & 2, Action Jackson, Commando, Red Heat, Die Hard 1 & 2, The Last Boy Scout, Above The Law, Hard To Kill, The Rookie, Marked For Death, Out For Justice, Fire Down Below, Exit Wounds, The Dead Pool, Sudden Impact, Code Of Silence, The Delta Force, Death Wish III(i gotta rent Death Wish 1 & 2), Hard Target, Double Impact, Death Warrant, Nighthawks, XXX, The Rundown. There's a lot of Chuck Norris & Charles Bronson movies i haven't seen that i need to check out. It's a shame we don't have the actors that can play in action films anymore. Sylvester Stallone & Arnold Schwarzenegger who were my favorite action stars of the 80's have gotten old so there's nobody who can play these roles anymore. Even Dolph Lundgren has disappeared LOL. Remember Rutger Hauer? He was a good action star. He did one movie called Wanted Dead Or Alive in the 80's where he was a bounty hunter. He also plays a good villain like he did in Nighthawks movie.
I have many of them listed in my collection.Chuck is good in Invasion USA and Missing In Action 2.
While many scorn Van Damme,i don't He does well.I have nearly all his too as well as Seagal.Bloodsport,Death Warrant and The Quest are decent.
As for Bronson check out Mr Majestyk and The Mechanic.Al Lettieri is a mobster in Majestyk. He plays a great villain. He was also in McQ with the Duke.
Jeff Speakman looked good in The Perfect Weapon but never made it.Shame.
Marc Dacoscos is another fav.He was amazing as a kind of cyborg in Drive. All good films.
Another one i like is Olivier Gruner.Savate, about the first western kickboxer is very good. It's a western/martial arts hybrid, much like Kung fu. Lee Ermey from ODG is the villain. Also Automatic is very watchable. That was one of the best films i've seen this year.Try a few Charles.
I'm a bit of a film buff.
The only one i haven't seen in your list is The Rundown. What is that about then?

The Rundown starrs WWE wrestling superstar The Rock, Christopher Walken, Rosario Dawson. It's about The Rock is a bounty hunter who has to bring Sean William Scott home to LA to his father from a foreign country. It's a lot of action in it & Christopher Walken is a bad guy of course like he always plays. U should rent it. It's worth your money. U should also check out The Rock's Walking Tall movie at theatres. That was good also.

Well i like Walken for sure.He has great screen presence.Prophecy,Dogs Of War and King Of New York are just a few that come to mind. And The Deer Hunter was a memorable performance. You wince as plays Russian roulette.Them eyes are something else!
As for The Rock, well if he proves he can act i'll give him credit!
Many here have pointed out there are no real successors to Stallone,Seagal and the rest. It's true.

Robert Ludlum's books get turned into motion pictures like Grisham's

Maybe not as big as Seagal or a Schwarzenegger name - Matt Damon I thought did an excellent job in the Bourne Identity (to which he's doing the next two sequels now).

I think he just trained for a few months for the role and came over like an expert! Just goes to show how they can make anyone look good in films.
Whatever,i thought he looked good in the action scenes.

Disposition Seagal
Being as I own about 127 movies and the majority are action I'm not really going to go on forever here. I like Steven Seagal flicks (of course :p), some Van Damme, some Jet Li, some Mark Dacascos, the die hard trilogy, crouching tiger, hidden dragon, matrix trilogy, the crow trilogy, trapped, Judgement Night (really cool action movie), predator (not a fan of Schwarzenegger), Eye See You, Fallen, U-571, the rock, gone in 60 seconds, con air, U.S. Marshals, all 4 lethal weapons, etc, etc... (I have a bunch of horror flicks as well and a few drama).

Good choices.Predator has been rarely bettered as an action movie. The characters and action are the best.I'm not even a big Arnie fan but that one is the business. His acting makes Seagal look like Olivier, lol.

Wusaa! LOL :=))

I used to watch quite a bit of Stallone, but then he started making his new genre of movies (i.e. 'Driven') ... so I didn't like "Eye See You" at all, but everything else you mentioned I liked (and ALL of Schwarzenegger's movies).

Bad Boys II !!!!!

I also like action films, how about Rapid Fire with Brandon Lee, all arnie :), most Clint Eastwood, Cuck Norris, Jackie chan, Jeff Speakman who did a few others after The Pefect Weapon, and the Rock seems the man of the moment in the Rundown which is called Welcome To The Jungle in the UK, but roll on Mr Seagal. Anyone got any info on his next films and the release dates in the UK? I know about a few upcoming but wondering the dates.
