i have no relegious belief at all.

I have seen too many bad things happen for me to believe in a god!

I have never frowned upon anyone elses beliefs though ( including my childrens ).

this is just my own personal feelings.

for me i think life is what you make it! if you are a good honest person then no matter what life throws at you, you will always find a way to survive!

and that happiness is what you want it to be!

Well this is part of an interview he did..doesn't say much but from what I have read over the years he took off from the movie world & basically retreated to find a new path:

Stanley Weiser: Were you introduced to Buddhism as an off-shoot of your martial arts discipline?
Steven Seagal: Well, to be honest with you I am not sure. I was born with a serious spiritual consciousness and for many years studied different paths. I went to Japan in the late sixties and began Zen sitting. I visited monasteries, studying Buddhism and receiving spiritual instruction. This was the beginning for me, the way I believed it should be—the development of a physical man through http://www.shambhalasun.com/Archives/Features/1997/Nov97/Seagal.htmmartial arts and polishing the spiritual side simultaneously.

Arigato Gozaimasu (Many Thanks)

I agree with him I miss in TKD the spiritual side and Aikido takes care of that, he does think like me.

I had a good point too on that we had a muslim child whos dad was offended when he (boy)had to bow to my master (as he should pay respect my masters older too) he said he cant do that anymore (the dad), master said I shouldnt have to ask hi to her should know to. Dad said no you dont understand only we bow in mosque to allah", my master thought "oh I see you bow to one you cannot see but one you can see is not worthy? How is that?"

who said MA was all physical defense? they never returned.

I am a Buddhist but agree with Christian precepts.

Association with others to share thought and energy to achieve good work is the limited use I make of Churches. I don't want anyone teling others about a so called true faith. God is in us and every where. We only have to close our eyes and feel. I do believe it helps to have a teacher to achieve meditation and I find meditation personally helpful both in joy and pain. I probably follow the writings of the Dalai Lama more than any.

That's nice Hallarian...
I don't think there is anything wrong with that...A person's faith is their own, and
no-one should judge or criticize it...I feel that we all know what is right and what is wrong, and it doesn't matter what your faith is as long as you have faith. That is, faith in yourself, and in your brothers and sisters (that is your fellow man, woman, mother, father) do what is right and eventually all will be right...
One has to determine what is right for oneself...
I believe in god, but I also believe that Buddhism is a very moderate path, a much better path to follow, and I embrace it...
And of course, I feel the Dalai Lama is a very wise man...
I will have to make it a point to read his books...:)

Was raised as "christian" by my parents but became disilllusioned at the age of 12 when reciting the creed that said "and Jesus died and went to hell for 3 days" ... something inside my young heart said "no! He did not!" and so began my meandering search for God (God alone and not "religion"). I explored yoga, "new age", Zen, Hinduism, witchcraft, and many assorted paths and found no Peace. Then my cousin showed me a photo of a Sufi Master named Bawa Muhaiyaddeen and I knew my search had ended; for this humble servant of God opened my Heart and at last I felt "home". For those familiar with Rumi, Coleman Barks who is "the" translator of Rumi, is also a student of Bawa's. He mentions Bawa in several of his forwards of his Rumi books. Sufism is being in love with God; He is the First and Last Intention within the heart. I've found it is a very good place to be.

Well, I'd say I am a very disillusioned
Christian with strong Buddhist tendencies...
Make sense?
I will never embrace going to church again...
But I think prayer is a very good thing...
I also think Jesus was probably just a man,
but if you can prove that he wasn't then I
might listen to you...
I think some men and women are very powerful mystics...
Personally, I feel a lot of Christans are big hypocrites
and are basically very evil and gulity people...
And no, I do not believe I will burn in hell for
not going to church...
But hey, I have no problems
with cremation...
I believe in reincarnation....
And I have had a desire to know more about the dharma
since I read about the Buddha's birth when I was about 10 or so
I think...
I have discovered the middle path, and I know that will never abandon it....
I think once one discovers the dharma, there is no going back...
I believe I have always "thought" like a buddhist...
And when I look at the teachings they feel so right, and the images are so comforting...
I am still struggling with totally abandoning what I was raised with, only because it has been with me for so long...
And of course others who are judgemental...
I guess I am a little bit of both, for now....
Make sense?
Maybe not...

I am a Bible believing Christian. I believe God sent his son Jesus to earth to become the blood sacrifice for our sins. Jesus became the "bridge" so to speak so we can spend eternity in heaven with him where there is no sin. Most of what I believe in is already on the "Mel Gibsons The Passion..." thread. That is if anyone is interested. Two cents from my heart! :)
