The only one who really knows is Jesus Christ himself. It is not just faith, it is trust in an all knowing God. I believe that the bible is a "lifes manuel." Sin (mistakes and wrong) in the world sure make a royal mess that effects everyone. I think if we trust him and follow him he will help us through the trials in life and make us a stronger person. Build character I say, not be one (like me);) Just kidding.:D On another serious note. the bible gets proven to be factual all the time by scientists and athiests trying to disprove it. That is like playing chess with God!

I always pray before I answer anything pertaining to God here. He helps me with the words and I also speak from my heart. I can not take the credit. People here agree or respectfully disagree. That is one thing I noticed. People here believe in many different things, but they keep others feelings in mind and try not to step on them.

I'm not stepping on anybody's feelings.I was just asking if anyone else had these thoughts...but as I'm not getting an answer the reason may be you don't.And I'll take it.Coz one day I'll find the answer myself.

Well to comment on your "Christianity,Islam,Buddhism-they're all meant to be,huh?" question....

Yes I think they're all meant to be-people can't all be expected to believe all in the same manner. I was reading a book just recently where they commented on when the Jews were being burned for just being Jew-basically the same thing, just because someone doesn't believe the same way as you do-doesn't make them wrong.

Exactly...

And with all due respect to others' beliefs... Who says one has to believe in anything... as long as one does no harm. I've seen people with no belief (as in God/religion) who behave better and do more for others than those who waste their time argueing amongst themselves over who's belief is right or wrong. Dividing instead of uniting...

Tora, I'm sorry. I just wasn't sure how to answer it. I don't know the answer. Jalu, I can not argue with you. I have seen very poor behavior on all sides of the fence. Very sad. As for productivity for society, all sides of the fence have "trees" that bear fruit and have dead branches. Everyone here just shares what they believe, not tell who is right and who is wrong. That is between you as an individual and God Himself. No one here has the authority to judge but God himself. If a person chooses to believe nothing at all, then I guess that is something they will come to terms with when they die, as we all must do some day.:)

Tora- interesting perspective there about the puzzle pieces :)
In the Sufi traditions, it is said that each major prophet or messenger God has sent has been appropriate to the collective awareness of Humankind - in other words, it was presented as a step up on the ladder of awareness of God. Sort of like God saying "there is more to your wondering about Who You Are" - come up the mountain just a little more. If, like the Sufi's say, Humankind is indeed "One" consciousness that is a Reflection of God, then each message or era of enlightenment, is simply a step up. The saying "to love others as yourself" then truly takes on the deepest and highest meaning - because in essence, we truly are One within God. Each puzzle piece creates the whole puzzle ... we just have to step back a little to see the whole puzzle ... and in doing so lose ourselves into the puzzle.

Jalu, true,I see the same things all around.People who pretend to be believers chasing their own benefits and using religion to reason that...Ridiculous.And the opposite about the non-believers.Like the Dalai Lama said, you either can be religious or not but you should never forget the human values-that's beyond any religion, that's a universal law.
And Kickingbird,I was kind of thinking of it...Going back to the roots of all those religions, you can see that they all have one source,it's only called a different way.

I would like to share something if I may be permitted. I know we all have different religious beliefs. We are given the right on which way we choose to go. All the world will not choose the same path. We all do not have the right to judge each other, or say ones love is not genuine. I know I love my God, My Lord Jesus Christ with all my heart. I feel the same way about the Bible. If you choose to follow buddha that is your choice. We will just respectfully disagree on beliefs. If you choose to be an athiest. That is your choosing. I will not judge you. God is our judge. All I know is Jesus said in the Bible there is only one way to Heaven, John 14:6. "Jesus said unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." I also believe I have a right to share here just as the next person. I feel like I am being shun because I do not feel the same as you do.
Just trying to be a friend, and make friends, Julie

Julie, please don't feel like you are being shunned....I am
a Christian also & I have never felt that way. We all have
different beliefs & faith's. We all disagree, but if you needed
help that would all be put aside and these precious people
here would be there for you in a heartbeat. I know from
experience....:) hugs, katrina :)

I don't think people here look at one another in terms of religion at all, Julie...
We are all a big happy family...The big guys "other" family...:)

Being into different religions doesn't mean we should disagree. We all see the same things in different way.And it's not a reason to start issues. There have been enough stupid religious wars-what for?For power? Not worth a damn.Like the Dalai Lama said, this diversity of religions in the world is not accidental. And my view is that people need them all.Yet,it doesn't have to prevent us from uniting.
And you can't say my god or your god,in fact,if there's God or how else you call him,he's one for everybody. And no religious books can replace him.
