Iam not sure if this question has been asked before but here goes what pet(s) have you got?...

I have an beautiful chocolate brown cat by the name of Xena..
she has gold eyes she is nearly 8 years old and i have had her from the age of 3 months..got her from an cats shelter...as some may know iam into horses too i have been around them since i was knee high to an grass hopper (aussie humour) i mean about 5 years old...as for dogs thats an big "No" as i was badly mauled by one when i was about 12..i have the scars to prove it...i just thank god my brother heard my screams he saw what was happening and hit the dog with an shovel across the head it let go and ran off...i have an steel plate in my wrist i wont go into the gory details i got 13 stiches in my shoulder after it latched on ...need i say i do get alot of pain still i guess its arthritis...so as far as dogs go dont like them no matter what the size....one of my brothers has ferrets as pets last count i think he said he had 10 ...so be interesting to see what you have?..

Hey Heather, You're lucky to have a pet at all, as you know I absolutely love animals, but my hubby will not suffer to have a one as a pet, what a grump! I think I should get rid of him & get a pet, they're less bother, & they don't fight back so much, yeah! I reckon thats a damn good idea! then I can come to Australia & visit you!!! I'm sorry to hear what happened with the dog, I had two german shepherds when I was younger, Shane & Bruno, & boy did they look after me they were brill!!! But its not the same for everyone, I've had a hamster (sandy), a black heinz 57 dog (Nina), a rabbit (fluffy), but they've all gone now!
Hopefully through time I will get myself a pet, when the old man is gone! cheerful are'nt I, its thru living with this miserable bugger!! but never mind!!
Suzi your cat is a beaut!! yours probably is too Heather, but I haven't seen it.

I'm a "dog" person, myself, though I don't have one at the moment. I can generally make friends with any dog, except for two breeds: rottweilers and pit bulls. I think they sense my loathing of them and return the favour.... Sometimes, I've had people be amazed how their dogs come right to me when they know their dogs usually don't come to strangers. "I've never seen her do that before," said one person when her Westie (West Highland White terrier) which normally shied away from strangers, came right to my hand for a little petting. I guess dogs know I'm a "petting person"!

I have the same effect on cats, even the really stand-offish ones.

My last dog was Ginger, a yellow-lab mix. She was the "talking dog". I'd talk to her in yarly-warly noises, and she'd make yarly-warly noises right back, as if we were having a conversation. Also, she had this way of actually making a "woof" noise - she'd scrunch up the front of mouth like she was going to whistle and then the "woof" would come out from the flaps on the sides of her mouth. It was very funny.

I have birds

I have two cockatiels--Banjo & bud. I let them out one time without covering up the pan I roasted a ham in. Bud flew from the cage, directly into the pan (which had a good layer of sticky glaze in it). ugghhh. I bathed him in the bathroom sink with a toothbrush, mild soap & a thick pair of leather gloves half a dozen or so times to get the goo off of him. He was not a happy bird for awhile. I had a border collie/blue heeler X for 17 yrs. sadly I had to put her down last year (cancer) That was hard & I still miss her. We sucked it up & payed for surgery but it was to no avail. can't help but think I prolonged her suffering. I also have 3 teenage sons--kinda like pets when ya think about it lol-- they don't do much around here except eat & sleep:p

That is one beauty of a cat you have, by the way

In a later post, I tell you I got a puppy--that is her as my avatar. her name is lola :)

Wow! I am glad you got out of that fruckus with the dog Heather!!! I can understand the aversion - had that myself about horses for many years after one trod on my foot when I was a little tacker however love them now am over it (yet after mega dosing introspection bleeehhhhh....)

I have fish - I am nuts for fish since I was 7 on a trip to England to visit the pommie branch of the family - we went out to a Chinese restaurant for lunch and the waiter gave me some bread to feed to the carp and the carp swam up and ate the food straight outta my hand - THEN the fish let me tickle under their chins. Ho! baby......been a love affair with fish ever since

So now have a big aquarium with goldfish and golden catfish......puddies are my other great love.....however can't have in an apartment block.......Suzi your cat is soooo beautiful......I used to have a white fluffy called Enis with eye colours like your cats but he was deaf which made things interesting to say the least!!!!

Funny about that with the dogs - the neighbours yapper harked up yesterday when I was tryin to do some hard core mathematical calculations and it was intruding on my brain space....so with alot of force I just yelled at the top of my lungs "SHUT UP!!!!!!" and My God! It did!!! Was laughing about it as it didn't start up again at all for the rest of the day!

I got a new puppy

In november we went to the humane society & filled out 1/2 an hour worth of paperwork for a lil puppy. turned out the director scans down to line 17 where they ask if your yard is fenced. Ours isn't fenced so we didn't qualify.
But we tracked down the gent that goes around and collects unwanted puppies & brings them to the humane society. We met up with him in a restaraunt parking lot before he was taking her to the pound. Sitting on the passenger seat of his van was THE most ADORABLE shepard/bordercollie cross puppy we have ever seen. We took her home & named her Lola. She's an awesome puppy & am glad we found her :)

hi everyone i have an unusual dog he is a cross between a staff and a great dane ..he is a rescue dog .his weight is six and a half stone . we have had him for six months he is four and completly mad he has some weird habits he chases shadows .he licks all the doors . we are trying to stop this we have tried everything we can think of but nothing seems to work we even tried curry powder very strong but he loves it can eneyone help. he loves to sit on eneyones lap you get very squashed very soppy . he also gets into bed with us right in the middle under the duvet we end up right on the edge .not very good for me or my partner .but he is very loving and protective .he has wrinkles on his face and looks worried all the time . as i say a weird dog . when we got him his name was guiness but we had to change it it was geting very expensive when we went to the pub . we have called him ben it suits him . god bless. sheila.
