Jackie Chan Sometimes Uses Body Doubles
Tuesday January 21 3:14 PM ET

Renowned for performing his own daredevil stunts and breaking bones in the process action movie star Jackie Chan has started using body doubles, but only when necessary.

"I will use stunt doubles if you ask me to ride an F-16 jet fighter, or to jump over a series of hurdles with a crazy horse, or to perform two 720-degree somersaults," Chan said in remarks that his manager e-mailed to The Associated Press Tuesday.

"But one somersault, I'll do it myself," the 48-year-old said. "I will do what I could do and I won't do anything that is out of my capability."

Chan was responding to a reporter's inquiry about a recent story in the South China Morning Post newspaper that said Chan used at least seven stunt doubles in his recent film, "The Tuxedo"

The Post quoted Chan as saying it wasn't his decision, and the director and studio officials "call the shots."

The Hong Kong native made his mark in international film with his stunts and dance-like martial arts choreography, but said recently he wants to move on to dramatic roles.

Chan said in 2001 he could only do his own martial arts stunts for another five years.

This is a ordinary news !! But if a similar was said for Seagal there will be so many things bad things would be said about him !!

See how objective this these journalists are !!!!!!!!

I think the problem is that the fans of Jackie Chan doesnt seem to mind anymore since he started to make movies in the usa. Many of the old fans doesnt watch any of his new movies and he knows that. His fame in Asia is only for his asian made movies where he truly did some amazing things and movies like Shanghai Noon, Rush Hour etc. (were he already started to use doubles and other special effects) did harm his reputation alot. I remember him saying once that he already accomplished everything he wanted e.g. the 20min non-stop "drunken master 2" fight scene and that now he doesnt take his movies that serious anymore. I guess he´s doing movies like tuxedo for money these days as he now serves a different kind of fans.
Thats one of many reasons why i never ever want to see Seagal doing some wire-fights like in Exit Wounds again. Seagal has a unique way of fighting in his movies, he shouldnt lower himself to b-grade action.

I like Jackie. I like Steven. I enjoy both of their films. And I also remind myself they ARE just movies. It's entertainment ... not reality. Regardless of how the action is done it is still entertaining. If I want reality I'll watch "Reality T.V." (ha!) (not!) :D lol
