Nice thought, but let's keep Seagal away from anything East European like for a change, so I'd go for the other similar structure like The Pentagon, The UN-building or Buckingham palace.
Peace
Wow...it has been long time since I've last posted on this site and I remember posting something about US3 on an idea that I have been putting together since there are so many rumors surrounding US3 storyline taking place inside an airplane. For long time, I have have been against an airplane idea for US3 but ever since I was working on a script of my own (it's not US3)...I have a thought about adding an airplane plot as part of subplot for US3 but it could be part of a story transition in between Act breaks.
If I were going to do a US3, I would have act 1 taking place at the Pentagon then nuclear power plant in act 2 (I add this because when they were going to do US3, nuclear power plant was the original idea for US3 "Drought" (maybe I am spelled wrong?) by J.F. Lawton so I thought it would be a nice mix in part of story.) and act 3 could take place at a oil platform or some kind but it would be similar to Season 6 last episode of 24 with Kiefer Sutherland. I remember writing an opening of US3 if I was doing my version of US3 somewhere on here this site.
I've been working on a script that maybe I'd love to see happening someday, a script that had me stroked since I was young that I wanted to see it happen but that project eventually got either shelved or is completely dead. That project was "Secret Smile". I've thought about revive this project so I thought why not, it wouldn't hurt to write something. And that title has been stuck in my head for long time.
Few years ago, I was writing my first full length screenplay titled "Dark Rainbow", I began working on putting story together for "Secret Smile" and the idea is completely different from the version that Seagal was going to make because in my version, I incorporated Native American theme in the script. If this does happen, which I feel it should happen because the story in "Secret Smile" takes place in Western New York where Niagara Falls and Buffalo are the main cities in Western New York, the film could get 35-45% film tax incentives if a production company decide to shoot in that location. That's something that Seagal should look at rather than shooting in Romania as his other films so there is an opportunity that he could shoot a film in America instead. What more can hurt to do a film in America especially in New York?
Native American theme would be a nice change in his films that he has been making lately. "Thunderheart" (1992), "The Fugitive"(1993), and "On Deadly Ground" (1994) are used as inspirations for my "Secret Smile" script. I am aware that "On Deadly Ground" was a native American themed film and again, this is why I use this film as part inspiration.
Now the question is whether if I should go for R rated territory or aiming for a PG-13 rating instead to reach to more boarder appeal. I would leave that up to a producer or an executive to decide what rating they're going for but I would be in favor for PG-13 just to give Seagal's career a boost, possibly besting than what Stallone did for The Expendables. The Expendables 3 was terrible despite its PG-13 rating but for "Secret Smile", it would work because of "The Fugitive" which had flawless pacing to keep you on your feet throughout the whole film is what I'm intending to do with "Secret Smile".
I have a faith in that things can work. Maybe Seagal would have egoistical problems but I would have to ignore that to get the film work in exchange for a character that I want him to have a role on what he might would be silent about that he wouldn't have to do some major changes to plot. This film would be very balanced approach in terms of how his entire filmography sums up. And this is coming from a long time fan of Seagal since I was three years old. Under Siege was the first Seagal film that I saw in theaters and I recalled coming out unimpressed despite its well ensembled cast and very strong entertainment.
So nice to be back on here to talk for a little. I've been away for some time to spend time getting the script together. I thought maybe I could reach out to Steven Seagal fans and see where I can go from here. "Secret Smile" can give Seagal's career a fresh start despite his present age. Be assured, you all shouldn't worry because his character in the script fits in at his present age.
