real fight today

Two guys assaulted me today to steal my pocket, it was a bad situation but unfortunately for them I almost broke one guy's arm and the other I projected him on the ground, he didn't know how to fall and got injured on the shoulder. The only fear I had was If one of them carried a knife, in that case I don't know how it could be for me. In those situations you don't have much time to think so I decided to defend myself.
I only wanted to share my experience
greetings

Great work Maurizio. They will think twice before trying to rob someone again.

Glad you were not injured or hurt in the attack.

Peace

Hi kotegaeshi,
as I said before I was lucky that the guys didn't have a gun or a knife..In any case when you decide to react to the agression to defend yourself you must act and fast, without thinking if the guys carry weapons. As I am a catholic cristian, I am glad that even the thieves didn't hurt themself, for me it's important to preserve the integrity of even the aggressors.
Thanks and as we say in Italy..ciao (which means bye)

I am so sorry to hear that happened to you hon....and as a "recovering" Catholic myself...I have to say...those men stealing WERE breaking one of the 10 commandments, Thou shall not Steal. So, I firmly believe that God would give you a "pass" on this one if you had to drop/hurt one of these assailants.

And...me lusting after Steven Seagal, even though he is married, isn't a sin. The commandment is "Thou shall not covet thy neighbors wife"......
It doesn't say ANYTHING about me wanting Elle's husband!!

(I hope my silly musings made you smile after this awful experience you had sweetie)

hahahaha, you are funny BarbaraAnn haha =), u got a great sense of humor. And I totally agree with you. Their intention was to hurt Maurizio, so he shouldn't be ashamed for hurting them. Sometimes you got to do, what you have to do!. Maurizio: You really have guts to do what you did, it was awesome!, congrats!. Most people when attacked don't know what to do, but you did! =)

Hi Carlos, thanks for the appreciation, I wanted to share this fact because of the bad feelings we have when we live in a stress situation, because this stress keeps away the calmness I always look for. But what I didn't tell is that I've studied martial arts for many years and I'm used to have fisical confrontation, I trained in yoseikan budo (a mix of judo, aikido karate) and did kickboxing fights in my country when i was younger. Even if I know how to defend myself, what i wanted to share is that when attacked we have a shock of adrenalina that can cause 3 possible reactions, run away, self defense and block in the place where we are. Important is to avoid the 3d.
The step further is for me what this time happened, to defend myself but not causing damages to the attackers, because it's my priority. I could get wild and cause seroius damage if I would see a man raping a woman, in this case I could get really angry, but hopefully it never happened. :)

Is here anyone else that lived a similar experience?

He said he ALMOST broke his arm. Yes he did throw them around, but he didn't injure them. This is very important for his principles and there is no double moral. Why the anger and agression?

Peace

The reason for the agression is...that the name JoshStern* stems from a Latin phrase that translates in English to "tiny penis"

Surrounded by real men such as Kotegashi, Maurizio, an Mr. Seagal himself as well as many others on the forum here, the JoshStern*...or, "tiny penis" feels very intimidated and overwhelmed....and the JoshStern's natural reaction is to attempt, in vain, to overcompensate for his lack of manhood. The JoshStern cannot be helped, other than by surgical means, which would involve elongating the tiny penis, but alas, the JoshStern is not intelligent enough to know that this is an option, and he lives out his days trying over and over to assert his place "in the pack"...but due to his weenie nature, he will never be accepted as a "real man" and never be able to take place beside them in society.

Hi JoshStern,
I could have done serious damages to the 2 thieves but I chose not to act brutally, my sole intention was to let them desist to try stealing my money. I am not rich and every euro that I have cost me many sacrifices, so I think that I didn't do anything against my moral, or at least I reduced the bad consequences for them. Anyway I respect your opinion.
Ciao

I had to use a Casey Ryback move on a guy that attacked me. He was hopped up on crack cocaine and tackled me to the ground with his adrenaline and I had to react with what was on my mind from a self defense move in Under Siege 2. I was on my back and this guy is attempting pummels with his fists. I put my hands in front of my face and deflected his punches. Then, awaiting for his openings while he kept reaching back with his arms for more punches and I 'zeroed' in on his eye socket with my thumb. He got off of me and I walked away. I gave this guy my self defense and not my money. I'm happy neither one of us didn't end up in the morgue nor the hospital :peace:. Bless God's guiding power :D.

If I was rich I would have given the thieves my money

I agree with you Maurizio. I'm not wealthy neither. But I've got I've got a wealth of survival skills in my thoughts and body and the will to live a long and healthy life. But not at the cost of others temporally and spiritually as in the minds of criminals(manipulators, bullies, thugs, and so forth). Plus, I love praying for my enemies to be thwarted before they even have the thought to confront me in any negative manner on their part. I believe aikidoists are aware of trouble from others even before it may become a possible confrontation as well.

I believe the O'Sensei the founder of Aikido said it best, "a smile brings a spirit of love and harmony in self and others" to prevent negative confrontations from others' negative outbursts when they don't control their anger and wrong decisions in public.
