Like I said, it would have been nice to see him on the big screen again. But I don't think it would have furthered his career at this stage of the game. I'm just hoping for a few more (well-made) violent STV 's before he hangs up his ponytail.

There's always Expendables 4. ;)

It's also possible 1-2 may sign on later in the shoot, but unlikely. It just seems like there's no way back for Seagal and Millenium films. Too much water under that bridge.

I am so dissapointed right now! Stallone offered him a role in EX3 and Seagal says NO!?

People don't let Seagal fool you. Everytime in interviews he talks about upcoming projects (Under Siege 3 ) and none of this is happening. No instead we have to watch Force Of Execution which has the same look and the same Seagal of the last 3 years (because of the Waxman team, no offence).

I really start to questioning myself: Does he really care for his fans? He is fooling with us! He has no money to fund Under Siege 3. The best thing that can happen to you is that some guy named Sylvester Stallone asks you for EX3! You are back on the radar if you accept that role!
But no, Seagal is too lazy and feets his fans with this dtv crap. I have to admit: he delivered some good dtv movies, but at the moment everything feels like the same thing over and over.

At the moment, I can't support him anymore! I already sold all my True Justice blu rays. I feel very dissapointed and angry at this moment!

No there is not, at least not for Seagal. Sly would never offer him another shot at it when he keeps turning him down. Its the third time in a row that he turns down Sly and the second chance he had to be in The Expendbles 3. Trust me, he wont get another crack at this. Seagal wasted his biggest chance to shine on the big screen again ... He brought it all on himself

Even if Sly had wanted SS in the film I think the biggest issue probably is that the Lerners would never have agreed to making Seagal an official offer. I don't think he's had any sort of official offer to turn down. Sly has a lot of influence certainly, but he doesn't have final say.
Realistically there's very little chance that we'll see Seagal in a Millenium film ever again. I don't know the particulars of that court case either, but perhaps it wouldn't be legally possible either.

Stick a fork in him, he's done.

Lets face it, Seagal isn't getting any younger (or slimmer) and people who aren't big fans of him are forgetting he even exists, as top billing for a movie in theaters, I don't think he'd even be a big draw anymore. I'm afraid he's already run out of time to revive his career.

As for EX3, it doesn't seem as though Seagal listens to or cares what anyone else has to say, he does what he wants, his way, and even though EX3 probably would've been a good career move, when has he cared about that?

I would like to think that there may be a surprise to come, even if it is brief, but yes, I am resigned that the possibility of Seagal partaking - while not completely impossible, is very unlikely.

He's spoken in interviews proposing "Under Siege 3", and even in one of the more recent interviews in Russia which was dubbed I caught him talking about the difficulty of getting financing.. partaking in EX3 would have bought him back into the larger public arena in a positive light and I am sure a producer/film company would have capitalised on that.

Overall I guess Seagal is starting to wind his career down.. I'm not writing him off, but just a lack of any news or definite forthcoming projects.. even a 3rd season of "True Justice" doesn't seem likely..

Sorry but he aint done yet ... sure he may be slowing up but you can not say he has not done well in his career an couple of his movies may have not cut the mustard but most of them were enjoyable to watch i for one think he is getting better as he is getting older if all these other actors that are 'older' then him can still act then i think theres still life in the old fox yet ...as for him not being in EX3 thank god for that ...:)

He's not done, but his career is. He won't be done until the big man up in sky takes him away (which hopefully won't be for a long time). But the glory days of his career are behind him, and while that's okay with him (seemingly) and with a lot of us, it's just a cold reality that every actor has to face.

Yes his 'glory days' commercially speaking have been behind him for a while now, but amongst his latter filmography there have been some good projects like "Urban Justice", "Pistol Whipped", "Ruslan", "The Keeper"..

Overall I wasn't expecting that a part in EX3 would have given him box office revival, but I think it would have significantly increased the chances of a late stage climax with "Under Siege 3" or a similar high profile project.

Lets face it, he will never make Under Siege 3. And now that he has turned down EX3 the chances for him to make Under Siege 3 are gone. No EX3 no Under Siege 3.

Seagal isnt out of EX3...he was never in it in the first place

I admit i would have been good to see him on the big screen again but im not that fussed that he is not in it

for me the cast list is too big...16 people listed above who all want there piece of the action...Seagal would have had 1o minutes maybe

also Chan is also not in it and admitted in an interview he would not be in it even if asked yet nobody here is saying Chans wasted his chance to be in the film

that said i hope Seagal looks for a better project and not just stick to Waxman

I had all of Seagal's movies up until about 2 weeks ago. I traded all of the "junkers" in at Best Buy to get $5 off select blurays. I ended up picking up all the Sly and Arnie movies I have wanted for a while (quality movies I might add). The only Seagal ones I own now are his true classics from the 80's/90's (ATL, HTK, OFJ, MFD, TGM, FDB, US, US2, ODG EW, HPD). From 2000 forward it has been a poopfest. That will probably remain my collection/interest in his movies until he snaps out of it and makes something decent again.

No offense, but the acting in "Urban Justice", "Pistol Whipped", "Ruslan", "The Keeper" was god-awful by ALL actors. They just felt like complete "CHEESE". I don't quite consider those movies, just paychecks for the parties involved.

Yep, this is where Sly has probably done him a slight disservice. Obviously you have to take what Sly says with a pinch of salt. Anytime he talks to anyone about possibly appearing in any of the Expendables films, he tells the world. Suddenly that gives the impression, to all the movie news sites, that an official offer has been made.

I don't think Seagal has ever had an official offer for any of these films and I think that's because the Lerners would never allow it. It's not like having Seagal would mean the difference between the film flopping or not. He's not essential enough that the Lerner's would back down and settle their differences with Seagal. I also think Seagal would expect a significant amount of money to appear too. Not simply for appearing in this film, but regarding money he still feels he might be owed from Nu Image/Millenium.

In truth Seagal probably wouldn't be interested in it any way, even if he was given a genuine offer. I don't think it's his cup of tea.

I thought Seagal acted quite well in Urban Justice and Pistol Whipped (and at very least attempted an accent for Ruslan)
I love all 3 movies (especially Urban Justice & Ruslan)

The Keeper was ok too :)

I would hardly approach a Seagal film expecting quality acting.. I said "good projects", meaning compared to some of the preceding films, the use of doubles was less pronounced, the direction and production qualities were decent, and so on..
