What name is that ???

Tony Jaa. As far as I know he hasn't announced any new projects after the "xXx" -movie. Of course the chances he will be in the movie are still very low at this point.

Talking about names like Jackie Chan or Donnie Yen doesn't make sense in my opinion, even though Seagal talked positive about them in interviews. It's just impossible to imagine this.

Hopefully there will be an official announcement soon, at the moment we know very little about the project. For now, it's probably better to have low expectations.

I didn't say that i thought that there was a chance that Jackie or Donnie would be in the movie, I just said that they were some of the Asian big guns which i know the names off. And if you read closer you would also notice that I said, and I quote:

Jackie Chan (out of the question, to expensive).
Jet Li (out of the question, to expensive).
Donnie Yen (out of the question, to expensive).
Tony Jaa (perhabs).

I asked Wych Kaos about an update. He told me that some changes are happening and that Steven will be back in Bangkok end of the month. Then he will have more info for me. He also told me that lots of rumours are flying around about Steven's next movies. He assured me that aside from the ones he has shot there will be nothing else. Just Attrition for now.

No, I think this will happen, but there are some scheduling problems to get the cast together.

Well, Steven would be back by the end of the month. Then he has to be quickly, because right now he is in Moscow. Hope there isn't anything wrong with this project.

After Seagal's twitter message I contacted Wych Kaos immediately. He confirms that they are going to shoot 3 movies in Thailand. Kaos will produced all 3 of them with Steven and he will be the DP on 2 of them.

At the end of this month things really get started up!

Will they be shooting the three movies back to back to back?

Can't say I'm too excited about them except for Attrition but only because he seems to be at least personally invested in it if he's (co-?)directing it and everything.

But the other two I'm not expecting much. At least the change of scenery is nice, but that's what I thought about The Asian Connection and that didn't turn out good at all.

Almost sounds to me, and this is just guessing on my part, that they had trouble getting financing for Attrition, so they figured they'd sell the investors on a whole slate of new Seagal movies instead of just one. So I'm expecting him to have very minimal screentime in the other two movies.

It's been several years since Seagal was even the proper lead in any of his movies and it's also been years since he put out anything even halfway decent on a DTV scale. So yeah, my expectations have been super low for a long time. Some trailers look pretty good but the movies end up dissapointing like with Code of Honor.

I don't know if they will shoot the movies back-to-back. I will check with Kaos next time. They indeed had some trouble getting financing. If you can speak of trouble. Seagal wants a bigger budget for this one, so they are changing the way of financing, Kaos told me. He said that they will hopefully be operating with better budgets then his recent movies so the quality of the movies will be better. But it's also more difficult. That's why it's taking longer.

So, will they finally start filming in a few days?

Currently, according to his Facebook, Donnie Yen is in Thailand for 10 filming days of his movie "Chasing the Dragon".
I wish he would meet Seagal there. In the late 90s they already talked about a film project, according to an old Donnie Yen interview.
But of course, it's highly unlikely that they will meet.
I hope they will ask Tony Jaa for one of the upcoming projects.
