Hi Heather,
Yes, just had time to do a bit of very hurried surfing through the site yesterday.
We arrived back in Hong Kong the night before after midnight in the typhoon!
what a scary business that was, DragonAir, was terrific, the Aussie pilot, so skilfully landed us in the bumpy ride. We were stuck at Shanghai airport for 10 hours as all flights to Hong Kong were cancelled due to the typhoon, but then about 10 pm Wed night they lifted the ban and we got on a flight, only we were told that the typhoon was passing away from Hong kOng, apparantly, halfway there in the skies the typhoon swerved back to Hong Kong and we landed in gale force winds as well as torrential rain. God was mighty busy, I had my rosary beads, "Please God..." we slept all dayt then I got up ain time to do some last minute shopping before taking off to London tomorrow morning, Sat. 9th August at 10 am.
My daughter has been diagnosed with post natal depression amidst her counselling due to maritl woes. My son is there with his family and i arrive to help out tomorrow.
Life comes in cycles and when i hear my daughter's woes, it all brings it back to me when I was her age and bringing up my children, it's like history repeating itself.
One minute I', the understanding mum , next minute I'm frightened, scared for her becuase i know what i9t was like, next minute I'm angry should she make wrong choices. then i pray and everything is alright for a while, have to pray regularly to constantly put myself back into living in faith.
Shanghai was very hot, very exhausting having to work , up and down in the streets, full of millions of people and bicycles and motor bikes that get fed up riding on the road and ride on the footpath, bowling everyone down in their paths. it's so dangerous on the roads, thank goodness our tenant left and we moved into an airconditioned apartment, i barely left the flat only when i had to it was so hot and polluted, we lived through 2 typhoons only to land into another one in Hong Kong, definitly the global warming has mucked up our weather, we have had 8 typhoons in this regions in only a short timespan.
Everyone is into the Olympics but when you are in china you don't get to see much on TV as there is only one English channell, CCTV-9 , and it's all censored. Once we returned to HOng kOng the information and the media is 10 times better and we are sitting up, while I'm cooking waiting for the opening ceremony.
the aussie athletes say the smog is OK and there have not been any respiratory symptoms, Beijing has to lengths to reduce the traffic on the rds to control the air pollution.
I have to go, I read that you are now on insulin, can't be easy, I have been diagnosed with diabetes Mellitis and have to take glucophage tablets to help the insulin my body produces to kick into the cells, as my body can't efficiently use the insulin it produces.
I also have a blood disorder, too many red blood cells, and once the bone marrow starts to produce too much blood, i have to go for blood letting, 500 millilitresas i start to itch all over.
Oh for good halth. I can only say that having friends to talk to is of great help to me. As I constantly travel and have seen so many friends leave, they stay overseas on contracts then go home to their country of origin.Having friends online helps. Having something in common ,like loving Steven Seagal also helps. He doens't respond to us, but we respond to each other, there's comfort in that. when you are feeling low, give me a shout.
Love You
Halyna
