REMINDER:

I know that this was already posted! But I'm excited to see Seagal back on THE BIG SCREEN!!! It has been a while (not counting his part in Machete) since Seagal has starred in a theatrical release!!

Here are the links for my fellow New Yorkers, Absolution is playing at AMC Theaters - AMC 25 in Time Square from May 15 to May 21th. This is a small victory for Steven Seagal. It is a step in the right direction.

Relax, pal. It´s not getting a wild release. You can´t compare this "Cinema release" when Seagal was in his prime and his movies were shown in much much more cinemas.

I can understand his excitement. He is near one of the theaters showing so he gets to see the big guy on the big screen.

And he is right, although a limited release it is still a step back on the big screen in the US for Seagal as a lead character. Not happened since half past dead.

Peace

I agree...even if it's only in select theaters in a few large cities, it's still in the theaters and it's his film. Too bad it's not slated for a Midwest town though...:(

Absolution was okay. Byron Mann did some great fight scenes as usual. It was cool to see Steven Seagal back on the Big Screen again!! IMO "Absolution" is better than "Born to Raise Hell" and "A Good Man". But not as good as "The Keeper" or "A Dangerous Man". Seagal and Mann make an Awesome Team!! I can't wait for Seagal's next movie "Code of Honor". I'll return to the theater and watch "Absolution" again!!

Here´s the conclusion of a review: The last sentences is exactly what I said here permanently: Seagal doesn´t care about his movies for 20 years now. He just want to get his next pa check.

Strangeness is littered throughout “Absolution,” which establishes Chi’s love for the “happy ending” treatment at local massage parlors, and there’s a vague outline for John’s haunted past, with a few flashbacks concerning his sickly wife wedged into the picture. “Absolution” isn’t complete, highlighting a forgettable villain and expendable supporting characters, but I supposed it’s about as close to a coherent endeavor as Seagal is willing to make these days. As long as he dispatches brutes, growls intimidating lines, and remains in focus, there’s always going to be a market for Steven Seagal pictures. Sadly, whatever passed for enthusiasm decades ago is long gone now, leaving the feature just another paycheck for the action star.

Director: Keoni Waxman
Starring: Steven Seagal, Vinnie Jones

Absolution felt like it belonged in the theater!! Before the movie, they showed ALL the trailers for the major upcoming movies. Coming Soon, they showed the trailers for: The Last Witch Hunter (Vin Diesel), Jurassic World, Batman v. Superman, Mission Impossible 5, and South Paw (Jake Gyllenhaal). Great company for Steven Seagal to be included with!!! Go Steven!! & Byron Mann too!
