Carlton Dry will re-create the winner’s story as a three minute online film with Seagal playing the part of the winner. The film will also run as 30 second TVC trailer on TV.

Vincent Ruiu, Carlton group marketing manager, said: “Many of us grew up watching action films, imagining ourselves in the lead role. The campaign draws inspiration from the fact that we all have one brilliant story we like to share with our mates over a beer.”

The campaign was shot in Vancouver in Canada, where Seagal is currently filming a movie.

Yes it is him ...i contacted the Carlton Brewery and the person whom wrote back to me confirmed it was him ..i thought that he may have done the ad here in Australia he could have flown out here to do it like other actors do BUT that would be too much to ask ..i dont drink beer now and just because he did this ad wont change an thing..

Yes this advertisement aired over the weekend in Sydney and I was caught out by it because I heard nothing about it beforehand.

My feelings towards it are mixed. While it is good to have exposure, I think it just plays up his image in a comical manner rather than giving him any serious credibility for his work. Would have been more appropriate to have a "Lawman" promo instead. I am also indifferent to beer, so not really interested in the campaign.

lol i like it!! Its so over the top, with the hot girls in the sauna and the sausage causing an explosion...Its everything people expect from action movies, and from Steven himself..I also like it when he makes fun of his 'tough guy' persona from the movies...He has put on some weight though!

Seagal endorsing 'booze'....after all that anti-addiction talk on the Lawman program...
maybe his 'cheese is slipping off his cracker'(quote from movie The Green Mile)...
anyway...3 'Aussies' are given a chance to be flown out to LA...if this is a legit contest in the first place...

However hilarious this ad is, I don't think it is a very wise career move for Seagal.

First of all, it's not a very flattering picture.
Second, he does his thing without any emotion
Third, he has committed himself to do a ultra low budget flick written by a beer drinking Aussie (no offence intended). I mean....some of the best ideas are thought of when your drunk, but once sober.....the dream falls apart.

Seagal looks like he is becoming the next Bud Spencer.

I feel a lot of minds go blanc on this name. This could mean I'm getting old or that he was more popular in Europe then in the rest of the world (please let this be the case :p).

So here are a few clips of mr. Spencer in action:

You are right, Steven should do something or he finishes like Bud Spencer.

And it kinda sounded like his voice would've been dubbed... As for the wig, yep - he's had that since the early 90's. Some of the hair pieces have been better than others.

I am sorry, but Steven looks fat and as if he wears a wig

Naturally there's nothing wrong with men with wigs; Sean Connery had one already when he was playing James Bond in Doctor No.
All in all - an amusing commercial. Vastly better plotted than most of Seagal's recent DTV-movies :)

No, not at all. I've always supported him, through "Attack Man" to the criticism against "Lawman".. Then he appears in this ad, as a parody which makes him come across exactly like that - a parody of himself.

Either he's just trying to play along with others joking at his expense (In the same way that Chuck Norris felt about the 'Chuck Norris facts'), or this is a marketing move to increase his exposure, but a bad idea at that.
