I am of a different opinion...
It is actually the sick man's karma to be sick. He should accept his condition, and if it is his fate to die he should be prepared to die in peace.
If a matching donor is willing to help him, then he should be grateful. However I think people are judging this woman harsh. Her body is her own, and noone can force her to be a donor. It is cruel and inhumane to put this burden on her. And the man is looking for sympathy.
Some people wouldn't even accept blood transfusions-that is their choice. And...I think noone has the moral authority to judge.
I have a friend with leukemia, and he has improved his condition a lot with organic/special diet.
I am not saying that this is for everyone, but maybe he ( the man in the article) should have tried some other alternative to make himself healthier while he could.
The procedure for bone marrow transplant is more painful for the donor than for the recepient. Sometimes it doesn't work, and it has to be done over and over.
Just for the record if I ever need a tranplant I"ll just prepare to die. I'm not sure about bone marrow, but after tissue and/or organ transplant one has to be on steroids for life. I have been on steroids for asthma, and it's comparable to being on chemo. Makes one weak...sensitive to the sun...it's an awful feeling. I'd rather die than be on steroids long term, but that's just me.
I hope he finds what he needs. A donor or peace...
