Any of you hate your siblings?

If I see my brother once a year I consider
myself fortunate! We do not hate each other
we just travel down different roads.
But should he find himself in that young man's
position and I were that perfect match, I would
not hesitate one second!
Even if I despised the very ground that he walked
on I could not live with myself knowing that I could
have saved him and I did nothing to help him.
I hope that young man finds the marrow that he needs
although there isn't much chance of that.
As for her, all I can say is that I'm glad I'm not in her
shoes now or at judgement.
God bless,
Mama san

Steve's Destiny
I am of a different opinion...

It is actually the sick man's karma to be sick. He should accept his condition, and if it is his fate to die he should be prepared to die in peace.
If a matching donor is willing to help him, then he should be grateful. However I think people are judging this woman harsh. Her body is her own, and noone can force her to be a donor. It is cruel and inhumane to put this burden on her. And the man is looking for sympathy.

Some people wouldn't even accept blood transfusions-that is their choice. And...I think noone has the moral authority to judge.

I have a friend with leukemia, and he has improved his condition a lot with organic/special diet.
I am not saying that this is for everyone, but maybe he ( the man in the article) should have tried some other alternative to make himself healthier while he could.

The procedure for bone marrow transplant is more painful for the donor than for the recepient. Sometimes it doesn't work, and it has to be done over and over.

Just for the record if I ever need a tranplant I"ll just prepare to die. I'm not sure about bone marrow, but after tissue and/or organ transplant one has to be on steroids for life. I have been on steroids for asthma, and it's comparable to being on chemo. Makes one weak...sensitive to the sun...it's an awful feeling. I'd rather die than be on steroids long term, but that's just me.

I hope he finds what he needs. A donor or peace...

Not wishing to piss on anyone's campfire here (although I'd drink a gallon of gasoline in order to do so), but if someone can help this guy and they refuse, then regardless of whether they are related to him or not, the refusal isn't going to help their karma in the future now is it? That is, if you believe in that sort of thing. It's rather morbid to just want to prepare to die. I'd much rather prefer to fight and kick the diseases ass, with or without the help of an organic(?!) diet.

H - very interesting. I am pleased you bought some carrot seeds. When I was in school I cut off the top of a carrot and left it in a saucer of water for months... a crazy big green plant thingy started to grow out of the carrot. I called my carrot plant Gerald and he was awesome. Unfortunately nobody watered him when I went home for the six week summer holiday, and when I got back to school, he had shrivelled up to the size of a peanut. I still miss Gerald. :( These traumatic little incidents from my childhood have shaped me into the man-beast that I am today, hahaha!

Er... anyway - yeah - Jamie Oliver is cool - I have a couple of his cookbooks, which is rather bizarre, as the most adventurous thing I tend to cook is scrambled egg on toast. However, I do sprinkle a bit of parsley on the egg to make it look cool. :D
