I dunno folks. I hate to sound negative, but I think there is stock footage in that trailer. Look at the last shot from the trailer. I believe it's a scene with a guy hanging off the side of a truck and two cars being smashed. Look at the quality of the footage and the two cars...it looks like they ripped the footage from a 70s action flick. Take a look again if you don't believe me. I'm a film student, so I've been trained to study scenes, and that one has to be stock footage. Other than that, I think Black Dawn looks OK. I liked the Jonathan Cold character, so I'll give this one a chance :)

It's hard to say what it is, first off the car goes from the left side of the semi truck to crashing into the right side of the semi truck. Then the semi goes from being around palm trees to being against a wall.

Now in the first shot of the semi truck you can see a parking lot behind them, those cars don't look old, they look at least mid 90's. And then in the next shot that off white car does indeed look old.

Also the guy hanging from the car is wearing a black leather jacket (seagal's stunt man) but in the scene with the off white car he's wearing a brown jacket or something.

But what does stay the same in both shots is the dark green semi with a white stripe and red bar on the side and that's why I don't believe it's stock footage.

What I think it is, is just bad trailer editing. It goes from one scene where you see the car gearing up to hit the semi and then all of sudden everything is backwards. I think that's just bad editing and that shot is from later on in the chase. I believe the guy in brown isn't stock footage or bad doubling but actually the driver being thrown out of the semi. But I still can't explain the old white car.

I dont think its stock footage as its a screen gems film ans they dont tend to use stock footage...nu image on the other hand always do it.Also screen gems have made some decent films half past dead, underworld, anaconda and the cave were all screen gems films and all were cinema releases. The only thing about black dawn that bothers me is the lack of fighting and i can see this film being the same as the foreigner which is not one of my Favorites.

i think it looks good i really liked jonathon cold and i am happy to see his return.
p.s suzi no matter what other people think of seagal i will always respect him and his movies,at the end of the day he could of retired long ago but he didn't he want's to give his fans more movies so come on at least respect him for that.

I notice that in the trailer there are some scenes taken from original The Foreigner (the shootout in the small house) but this is a seaquel to it so they can do that. i will wait to see the movie. i liked the foreigner for my own way.

yeah. don't worry. i think they only use those scenes from original Foreigner to make a trailer. If You notice those scene are shown when they are talking about Johnathan Cold past.

That scene is only used as a flashback for the introduction of Jonathan Cold.

Such scenes are often used in trailers of sequels and even in the movies themselves to introduce a character or event.

I don't see a problem, the trailer looks nice and i cannot wait to see it.

Peace

Looks a lot more action packed than THE FOREIGNER?

But i've seen a lot of deceptive trailers of recent?

Fingers crossed!

Seagal needs a cinema release DESPERATELY!! Foreigner 2 (Black Dawn) looks ok though! Atleast with direct to dvd you can buy his new films almost instantly!
