Brentwood where Seagal lives, evacuated due to fire!!!

Hey everyone.
Tuned into a LA tv station this morning, to see if I could catch any news on Seagal. Instead, they have a huge brush fire that had been started yesterday or the day before(not really sure) by an arsonist. It has made it's way down into the foothills now, around Fontana and Rancho Cucamonga threatening many many homes. So far, NO homes have caught fire and burned. They had already called for an evacuation of Brentwood, Hunter's Ridge, Sheridan, Etiwanda and several other areas that are in the path of the fire, earlier this morning. Some of the residents were saying that they didn't get notices to leave, until the fire was almost at their back door. Remember that there is a 2 hour difference in time, so from where I am in Texas it's 11:23AM here and 9:23AM there.
There are Santa Anna winds that are making things worse right now and causing the fire to move towards the west(towards LA), but they do have some of the heavy helicopters doing water drops right now. If the wind gets any higher though, they said that they will have to stop water drops until the winds die down. They have also closed quite a few of the major freeways in many areas, schools were also closed. The firefighters did set backfires, which has helped some. The fires are over a 4000 acre area. Fortunately, homes in these areas have tile roofs and the wood if any has been treated so that it's fire resistant. Most of the homes also are made of brick, concrete, or material other then wood. Thank goodness!!!!
Seagal does live in the Brentwood neighborhood. Hopefully, he and his family have evacuated and are all safe and sound!!!!
Take care

Just heard that the fire has claimed at least 5 homes, but luckily no lives lost. I imagine that there will be more homes lost before the fire is finally put out, hopefully no lives though.

Omg, this is terrible news!
I hope our Steven and his dear family and his lovely home are all ok!

But no-one has been hurt, right? Thank goodness!

Sensei, I hope all is well with you and yours!
Stay safe and be well Dear Steven, and best wishes
to you all your loved ones!

I hope he doesn't suffer any hardship over this...
But those other 5 homes already lost, what terrible news...

What kind of person would set something on fire on purpose in a residential area?

Maybe it was just an accident?

Thanks Donna and all, for the information!

No Lotussan, they said on the LA news that it was definitely set on purpose. If they haven't already caught the person that started the fire, I hope that they do very soon!!!

Don't think that it was set in a residential area, believe that it was started up in the hills or mountains somewhere. With the high winds, it has now made it down to the residential areas.

Calif. Fires Force Thousands to Evacuate

By DAISY NGUYEN, Associated Press Writer

LOS ANGELES - Flames pushed by 25 mph and higher winds jumped ridges and roads on a march toward Rancho Cucamonga early Friday. Thousands in the region were evacuated and two major freeways closed

More than 3,800 acres of the San Bernardino National Forest have been scorched since the fire started Tuesday in the heavily developed area about 50 miles east of downtown Los Angeles, said Bill Peters, a fire information officer.

Billowing clouds of smoke hung above the area, while the California Highway Patrol ordered closure of Interstate 210, an east-west highway running north of Los Angeles, and Interstate 15, the main route from Southern California to Las Vegas.

Evacuations were ordered Friday morning for hundreds of residents in northeastern Rancho Cucamonga, and about 2,000 people were ordered out of the nearby Lytle Creek area Thursday because the blaze was expected to block the only road into the area.

About 1,400 firefighters battled the blaze, which was only 17 percent contained early Friday, Peters said. Triple-digit temperatures were expected Friday, and winds of 25 mph and up were reported. The even stronger Santa Ana winds were expected to pick up over the weekend.

The wind delayed deployment of firefighting aircraft Friday morning. The Red Cross set up a temporary shelter in Fontana, just east of Rancho Cucamonga, and all elementary and middle schools in nearby Etiwanda were ordered closed.

The fire, which authorities blamed on arson, was one of several that swept through Southern California this week, destroying five homes and chewing through nearly 11,000 acres.

A fire near Piru in Ventura County had charred about 700 acres by early Friday, but was burning away from homes, said Barry Peckham, a spokesman for Los Padres National Forest. A cause of the fire, reported Thursday, had not been determined.

At Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base, 50 miles north of San Diego, 1,350 firefighters were battling a 4,100-acre brush fire that was threatening 300 homes Friday morning, fire officials said.

Residents were asked to evacuate and a temporary shelter was set up in Fallbrook.

Officials said the fire started on a training range Tuesday, apparently sparked by ammunition used in military exercises, and was 40 percent contained early Friday. Firefighters have been unable to enter the southwestern area of the fire because it could be littered with unexploded ordnance, officials said. Officials had no estimate on full containment.

A 2,857-acre fire in the Reche Canyon area of Riverside County had been completely contained by Thursday evening. It had destroyed five homes, a barn, 21 outbuildings, a boat and several vehicles.

Officials said an arsonist set the Riverside County blaze and were seeking information on a black pickup seen just before the wildfire erupted.

Thanks Suzi!!!!
I was looking for some more info on the fire, didn't think to check Yahoo for it though.
Brentwood is where Seagal lives, and where all those pictures were taken that we have seen of the inside and outside of his house. Everyone there and in other areas that I named were told to evacuate early this morning.

They were suppose to, everyone in Brentwood and the other areas. Whether they actually did or not, I don't know. We can only hope that they aren't being stupid by staying, hoping that the fire won't make it that far.
Or hoping to try and fight the fire themselves. There was just a report on that one person didn't evacuate, and was trying to fight the fire near his home. This person wound up getting burned, wasn't killed but not sure of their condition right now.

Suzi, I have no idea how to find out if Seagal and his family are safe. If his website was still up and running, we could have probably asked there and gotten an answer. I have been emailing Jaime at the addy he had on the message board there, but can never get him to answer any of my emails.
Anyone have any ideas on how to check on Seagal?? I believe Amos was right, when he said that we need to put a locator on that Man!!!

Do you know for sure, that Jaime can't answer and how do you know???? If you can't post this info on the board, then email me at: aikidonna@yahoo.com
