There are some very kind press reports

about the services and Jackie's family- apparently he is planning on reburying his parents in China at a later date.

In any case, my condolences on the loss of his father - he is now an orphan.

None of us are happy about losing our parents...my heartfelt sympathy goes out to Jackie at this time. I thought it was quite odd that his Father's name was the same as our famous oldtime detective from long ago.

I, too, was sorry to hear about Jackie's Dad.
My condolences to Jackie and his family.

That's what I thought too, Shirl.
This may be a little off subject but it does have
to do with the name "Charlie Chan".

Just a bit of trivia on "Charlie Chan"......
I remember Warner Oland and Sidney Toler.
Each played "Charlie Chan".

Warner Oland played Charlie from 1931 - 1937
He had his #1 son Lee Chan played by Keye Luke.

Sidney Toler played Charlie from 1938 - 1946
He had his #2 son Jimmy Chan played by Victor Sen Young.
Also had #3 son Tommy Chan played by Benson Fong and
#4 son Eddie Chan played by Edwin Luke.
In the 1944 movie "Black Magic" there was Charlie's daughter Frances.

God bless,

Warner Oland and Sidney Toler, respectively!!

And didn't those Charlie Chan movies

have sort of an Alfred Hitchcock twist to them - I remember watching them long, long ago.

Too bad TCM doesn't do a Charlie Chan week and let us see them again - they probably don't own the rights to them and who knows some of them may have been lost to the ravages of time - disintegrating celluloid.

Ah well, maybe they can be found elsewhere.

I always loved watching Charlie Chan movies. Mamasan, you really remember them well. You must be in my age group to have such a memory...I am 75. I remember them both but the latest one the best and his son. I wish they could come back again like the three stooges are being played every weekend here in Massachusetts and one of my 40 something married sons loves watching them on the weekends. Thanks for the memories.
