Does anyone use His Ways in daily life.

You too are great. And I hope You'll always keep coming back. You are just such a wise person, Tigerfeet. But then you are a Seagal fan. All his true fans appear to be special folks. And you are right about Steven being a spiritual teacher too. This is a deeply spiritual man, and we who truly love him would surely benefit from having such a man as our role model.
Have a nice day kiddo.

Chef, consider yourself in receipt of an enormous hug from this person. I felt so good after I read it, thank you for that. I believe there's something in what you say about His Ways. I called him an enchanter, and I truly believe that there's a lot more to this very special man than even we as his devoted fans can ever imagine. Anyone with a soul would love this man. I mean you just can't help it. And I'll bet you understand what I'm trying to say. Because like you said. I only have to think about him and I get an overwhelming feeling of well-being!!
Stay cool.

SeagalAddict

First WOW! nice post I felt your spirit in your post. Second your hug would have to be enormous because I am His size but my shoulders are alittle broader. Third I do understand fully what you say. Forth you did not try to say something you did and what you said was wonderful.

It is Friday and I will go into my weekend refreshed after a very long workweek because of your most very kind words to me and what you said most of all about Him.

Have a great weekend!

Seagal Addict & Chef (and everyone else too :) )

I seem to remember seeing an interview with Steve somewhere, might have been on YouTube, where he said something along the lines of, there are people who will recognize him as a teacher, and for those people who understand him in that role, when they see him in films, or think about him as you two do & you do get that sense of peace.
There are a quite a few of us on this site who are like that I think - who see him as a spiritual teacher and as a role model. He is so much more than just the sum of his projects, or even than the sum of his talents.
As long as there are souls like you guys on this site, I will keep coming back!!
:)
You guys are great!

As Are You

Thank you so much for that clip. Your description of that interviewer is spot on. I find that morons like those usually try to make fun of anything that's too deep for them to comprehend.
Steven is on a much higher level, and the people who know what he stands for, (such as his loyal fans) can learn good things from him and try and learn from his wisdom.

I would bet you had to use His Ways not to think badly of the interviewer. If that is so, please, share how you, used "His Ways", to contol bad thoughts, of the person you, found to be a moron.

Thanks

Errr... I kind of just thought he was a moron. One way I do try to use the ways of Aikido generally, and as evidenced through Seagal, is to not let those sorts of things simmer inside me. I do not waste my energy on negativity and hatefulness. The guy can be a moron for all I care. It is not up to me to harbour bad thoughts about him.
A short while back, I posted a quote that I found on the Aikikai Foundation web site, and I think it is worth repeating here, in a longer context:

A pure budo comes with the unification of technique, body and heart. The budo, which will manifest itself, does not depend upon the technique, but rather upon the heart of the practitioner.
The aim of Aikido is a kindness of heart expressed through this spirit of budo.
Here are some thoughts on the spirit of Aikido.

Aiki is love.
Budo is the path of the warrior. Combined with the spirit of heaven and earth in your heart, you can fulfill your life's destiny with unconditional love for everything.
Aiki seeks to skillfully strike down the ego and inherent insincerity in battling an enemy. Aiki is the path of forgiveness and enlightenment.

The goal of Aikido training is not perfection of a step or skill, but rather improving one's character according to the rules of nature. One becomes "resilient" inside yet this strength is expressed softly.

Their website address is: http://www.aikikai.or.jp/eng/
There's some really interesting stuff there.

Do you use His Ways to focus your energy. Is it a big focus ie. the whole body, or is it small and in the mind only, or a combination, or none of the above.

Thanks

I think it is a combination. Sometimes too, you need to focus on different things. For example, I will sometimes realize during the course of the day that all my muscles are very tense. I tend to clench my jaw a lot, and when I notice that, I focus on relaxing all the muscles in my body, one by one. By the time I get down to my legs, though, I've usually already tensed up again in my jaw. So it can take a long time!
Other times, I can feel the stress building up and I need to focus on mental processes - not letting things that are not significant get to me, not letting my emotions overrule my thoughts, while still allowing that quiet intuitive voice a chance to be heard. Breathing deeply and correctly is a good way to re-focus.
Are they his ways? I have no idea. But I do find that if I reflect on the principles of aikido, it helps. And Steven is the Master!
Just so's you know, though, I am not that great at all this focus and relaxing stuff! I still get tense and frustrated, and have a LOT of trouble with meditation and prayer.
But... I am trying, and learning, and hopefully improving! I have found that getting back into a dojo (even though it has only been a few weeks) has been helpful, both physically and psychologically. It feels like I am doing something positive.

Have a great day!

I had a book I threw away in the 70's it was so powerful it created a out of body type experiance that actually scared me so much I thew the book away. I don't remember its name or anything about it.

I only kept one exercise that worked well for speech giving and quick relaxation.
The full exercies is that you count back from 10 all the way to 1 then count back from 9 all the way to 1 then 8 to 1 then 7 to 1 then 6 to 1 then 5 to 1 then 4 to 1 then 3 to 1 then 2 to1 then say one one one.

I would only do this to about 4 because it takes you very deep into a state where things become very clear and you begin to experiance a out of body experiance.

I use one alot. If I am giving a speech or entering a room I say one and breath out as I grasp the doorknob. This totally relaxes me. If you practice I would bet that you can relax better than anybody I know I can. I still have to use His Ways because there are things in this World that meditation can't help.

Good luck and please add this to our His Ways movie thoughts.

Thanks Chef!

That is a good relaxation technique Chef. I tried it and was so relaxed I forgot what I was doing by 5. I'll try and remember it for when I am really stressed and see if I can count all the way down to one then.

I seldom use it and usually I go to about 5 also. I use the one when I enter a room.

I am glad you are using this.

Hey guys, deep stuff here huh! I'll tell you what my technique for overcoming stress is. I think I've said this before too. Whenever I become aware that I have a long face for one reason or another, I just think of Steven, and my face breaks out in a smile, my shoulders lift a little higher and with chest out I strut along humming on the way. Funny thing is, follks usually nod and smile back. Now, isn't that something!! I so love this man.

I love how you use His Ways just by thinking of Him. I feel that much of His Ways do come from within. The most wonderful thing is how you project them out to others.

You made my day

Chef, a guy like you would make anyone feel good kiddo. Another hug on it's way!! But you know, I've always "seen" (if I may use such an expression) who the real Steven Seagal is. I know there's so much more to this wonderful man than people imagine, spiritually speaking. I know that he's quintessentially a good human being, and because of this, I find it the most natural thing to turn my thoughts towards him whenever I feel the need for a special kind of boost.
You're a gent.

How very nice to wake up and come in to this real nice discussion. I hope other members here will help with this HIS WAYS PRODUCTION. I hope you know that it is genuine what I say to you and please don't think I am only being nice so you will tell me of how you use HIS WAYS.

I am sorry but I still can't fully understand how you use His Ways. Please try to put into words what "MUCH MORE" means. THere are those who are trying to grasp this idea you have both personally and professionally.

I feel that there is more and ask you not to hold back.

Thank you
The Gent,

Hi Chef. What I mean about there being much more to Steven than we might know? OK, I have a feeling that Steven may possess healing abilities. I just feel that, you know. I've read a lot of stuff about him on the web, and it dawned on me how special this man is. And with his devotion to Buddhism and all his charities, I don't know, I just drew that conclusion. Maybe though I'm just a Seagalist getting carried away again!! By the way Chef, I received your message about us becoming friends. We're already friends kiddo, along with every Seagal fan who visits here. At least I hope so. I'm trying to find a way of explaining how I use "His Ways" it is pretty basic really. I make it a rule to watch one of his movies every single day. While I'm hearing that voice, seeing him in action, all of those things, I just feel comforted, at peace, happy even. I get all that from my hero Mr. Steven Seagal!!
