Is Master and Commander out on video? If it is, I'd like to see that one. I'll have to check.

Maybe I jumped the gun a little, that one might not be out just yet. Also I'm not sure about Something's Gotta Give.

Both X-Men movies are decent, a lot more fun that any of the wannabe deep/philosophical Matrix movies. In my opinion, anyway. Hugh Jackman is pretty cool, and Ian McKellen really loves playing the bad guy. Good special effects and fight sequences too. So if you haven't seen X-Men 1 or 2 then I would go for it.

If you want a different comedy try Intolerable Cruelty. Are you a George Clooney fan? I just watched it because I'm a fan of the directors (the Coen Bros), it wasn't as weird as their other films but still it was pretty entertaining stuff.

And I don't know if you're into chick flicks much, but I think Under the Tuscan Sun is out, too...

Thanks, Lotus, for your kind words. You're always so sweet to me. And it just came out this afternoon about my knee. Again, it's nothing serious. No reason why you would have known. It just happened over the weekend. I was hanging around the board all day today (had a terrific time, I must say :)), and said a couple things about it that Disciple picked up on (not that I was subtle :D) and started this thread. :)

Tell you the truth, I'd rather be back at work. I've been thinking for years I needed to slow down a bit. Turns out if I do, I'll probably go crazy! :D

Not surprising, I know how dedicated you are, Serena...I really admire that, you're really great...Anyway, I'm wishing you all the best, and really hoping you won't need the surgery...
At least you'll be able to be here with us in your spare time, and get some more time to rest,
which I am sure you need...

X-Men it is! Sounds like something I'd enjoy. I like George Clooney okay, so maybe I'll check out Intolerable Cruelty. I know the Coen Brothers from Fargo, which I really liked, as well as Raising Arizona and the Big Lewboski. I never saw Oh, Brother, Where Are Thou, but heard it was pretty bad. I wonder if Bad Santa's out yet. I heard that was hilarious. Almost no chick flicks I like, and Tuscan Sun didn't look very appealing to me.

Thanks for the suggestions. :)

And maybe Head of State, too, just to break up the serious stuff. Thanks, Yudansha. :)

Be grateful you don't live in my apartment building, Serena - no elevator, and it doesn't matter which floor you live on you still have to go up and down stairs to get home.

You're right--I am grateful, TD. :D

See, there's always a silver lining. ;)

Dumb question for me to ask I think... I mean, how could anyone into violent Steven Seagal movies also be into chick flicks? :D

Seriously, I've noticed a lot of you guys (Serena, TD, I think even Lotus though I could be wrong) seem to be more into cool, actiony flicks. You're like the cool sisters I never had.

Sweet, Disciple! Thanks. :)

Can you be like the younger brother we can tease and torture until he calls for mom? :D

Chick flicks... NOOOOOOOO! :D

Actually, there are one or two I find tolerable, but barely so. I did want to see Under the Tuscan Sun, not for the romantic bits, but because wossername (Diane Lane?)'s character does something I've always wanted to do - just pick up and go live somewhere else, no strings attached. But I haven't seen it yet. Maybe if I get the flu, or something, and have to dose myself with Super Strength Neo Citran (I'm told on good authority that's the only way to watch Yellow Submarine - it actually makes sense if one doses oneself with vast quantities of cold medication beforehand).

I confess I always leave the room when the smoochy bits come on, even in action films. There's nothing that looks worse to watch (or more boring) than people kissing- blech. (Heard in the background during such scenes from TD - "yeah, okay, now let's move on to something that's actually interesting - like the next chase scene!". Action junkie, me.)

-TD, pinning Disciple down while Serena gets ready to torture him in true big sister fashion

SAY WHAT Disciple?

(now where is that ban button???)

Now now Serena...you could have come up with a better story for what happened...you ran out into traffic to save a lizard from being hit by a truck!

That's why I thought the jogging story at least sounded better than playing with little kids. Darned honesty trait. :) The two little mooses together weigh more than me! :D We had our own WWF thing going on. Ouch!

Disciple--You can run, but we know where you hang out! :D
