For those of you interested in some good work being done to eliminate nuclear weapons, the Global Security Institute http://www.gsinstitute.org is working hard to help. Jane Goodall, Pierce Brosnan and others support it. Their website is quite nice with lots of info. It is the kind of work one does not hear about on the evening news. It gives hope and purpose to the human race. Check it out if you can.

This looks like a very interesting site, Kickingbird! I've never heard of it. At a quick glance, they seem to have quite a bit to explore there: Video clips, audio broadcasts, articles, a well-defined mission statement and overview, and even a picture gallery--very thorough. I'll save this and look through it more fully in the next day or two.

... but unfortunately it's a dead end... Some countries' economies are based on military development and if suddenly UN says for everyone to stop, you'll see a breakdown (kind of like what USSR turned into ...).

yudansha- it "might" be a dead end; however, one has to have hope. If more human beings have hope and work for good, only good will come of it. Think of the consequences ... this may be the "end days" but it doesn't mean we have to just all slide into hell on the dust from a nuclear holocaust ...
There are powerful beings who are working very hard to help us, despite the sad state of the world. We should honor that allegience.
Sometimes it is difficult to see the whole picture but we have to try at least. It is a battle none of us should ever walk away from ... unlike the troll wars ...

I believe if it's worth doing one should join in the doing. If enough people lean on a gate, it opens. I think this is a good group well worth helping and adding one's voice.

"WW3"? it is already happening right now. The thing to remember is that there is fighting, starvation, genecide, environmental destruction, etc. all over the planet. It is ultimately the battle between goodness and ignorance. Those who are drowning in ignorance will drown in it. Those who strive to live in Light will dwell There. There are very powerful beings who are trying to help us - the Human Race - help us overcome differences and ignorance and live in harmony and peace. It is up to each individual to heed their warnings. The battle exists within our own hearts.
"It can take just one person to force all those people back" ... that cannot happen unless all those people allow it to, and I do not think that will happen. There are beings who cannot and will not be influenced by the powers of darkness and hate. These beings make up a collective consciousness that cannot be corrupted. Even if there are no physical bodies "leaning on a gate" the power behind the collective consciousness will still be there ...
The people who founded and support the GSI are such people; people who believe in goodness and peace and will always work toward that.
There is no "one person" who will force them back, simply because goodness and peace are qualities that are part of the Creator. It all depends on what one believes in, associates with, and works with. If one exists in Light, one will be Light; if one exists in darkness, one will follow that dark path to the black gate.
To refer to the Lord Of The Rings - the Fellowship and those who helped them, and two small hobbits ... who brought down the dark lord and his creatures of darkness.
Fantasy? not really ... the principles apply to us today, here now. It is up to us to decide.

About Einstein - he would be horrified if he knew then what the world is doing with nuclear weapons. He was a peaceful man - hence the Nobel Peace Prize. Yet there are no rewards, no recognition, no trophies, that will go with us - the only thing that will go with us are our qualities. It is helpful if one has good qualities and good intentions.

Did you know, that when something huge gets banned, it doesn't mean that the production stops ... (i.e. the reason behind the 'black market') ... and when something as big as nuclear firepower would be banned, there'd be high demand for that in the 'underground' ... and once the 'banned' technology gets into the wrong hands: "It can take just one person to force all those people back" ... don't be fooling yourself in thinking that the U.S. can prevent a mass destruction due to nuclear attack if one was launched. The only solution that would come out is 'eye for an eye' and that would be the last war...

The Global Security Institute is not contained to the US - they are "Global" and it is made up of and reaches out to global interests.
I'm not fooling anyone - this is not a US government organization! If you had explored the GSI site you would know that.
As far as a black market - there is always going to be such ignorant people who run black markets. They shall reap what they sow. Hate begets hate. Violence begets violence. Those who live by the sword will die by the sword. Such a waste of time.
Eye for an eye? When those who follow that rhetoric take vengeance into their hearts they will receive just that; however, there ARE those who will not take part in such stuff. Blessed are the Peacemakers ...
Global pollution, terrorists who do not care about anyone's 'freedom' but their own (terrorists are bullies waging turf wars - gang members defending their turf - tribal mentality at it's peak of ignorance), there are wars all over the globe that have nothing to do with the US - they are all turf wars. There is war on the environment from many "sides" - destruction of the oceans, rainforests, etc. that is causing many problems. The rainforests are being burned up all over the globe. People have no idea what that is doing and will do to the global environment. If one looks at the world from space, it is one planet - there are no boundaries, no political lines drawn in the sand.
GSI is not a US gov organization and it works for the voluntary non-use of nuclear weapons, as well as other destructive practices around the globe. They are on the "side" of the Human Race - ALL of us.
Ignorance is only that which does not know the Truth. Once one knows the Truth, there are no barriers, no differences, no "lines in the sand". Until then, one is only stumbling around in the darkness which will eventually consume one.
We need to think globally - get out of the rut where we think about turf, about "our land, your land", "our religion, your religion", "our politics, your politics"; or to put it more bluntly, "mine is bigger than yours" ... such juvenile thinking amongst world leaders will bring nothing but hell for ordinary human beings.
The destruction that may happen won't just be among the major players - it will affect the entire planet.
