If You Have ADHD, Autism or a Learning Challenge, Please Read

Since I have ADHD and slight Autism, I have developed my Own Style of Learning, out of sheer determination to overcome my challenges so that I Can Learn. Through Close Observation of myself, I have come to understand How I Learn Best. I call my learning style a "Dot-To-Dot Learning Style", that leads to a Whole Picture. One that enables me to better grasp or understand much better, what I am trying to learn. Although, some topics of interest just come natural for me to understand, right away, as I am reading or hearing a lecture about it....

Because om my Learning Challenges, I find it hard to sit still and read for very long, unless it is something I already have learned some knowledge, about the topic of of study. In order for me to reach that step of learned knowledge, I must: read a little, take a field trip to "see-up-close" or watch and experience "first-hand", what ever I am studying about; and then I either observe and/or ask questions, from those with experience, on the subject or topic of interested studies. When possible, I even participate with hands-on learning activities, that help me gain a better depth-perception, of what ever I am studying. This all leads to "Experience-Knowledge", for me. Then I will go back and read the books I have, on the subject or topic of study.

For Example, I will use the alphabet dots, to show you what I mean. The "aphabet-dots" will represent a mapping out of dots on paper, that when connected, reveal a whole picture; like in a childs coloring activity book.

a= Read a little & view pictures about/relating-to topic of study (in books)
b= Read a little & view pictures about/relating-to topic of study (on internet)
c= plan fieldtrip to place, related to topic of study
d= Place of Study
e= Personal observation of object or topic of study
f= Questions about object or topic of study
g= Professional or Experts answers, about object/topic of study
h= Object of Study or Seeing in-Action, the topic/object of study
i= Hands-On learning-experiences with object/topic of study (when possible)
j= Pearsonal experience gained from field trip
k= Go home or Somewhere Tranquile,to read more about topic/object of study
l= Learned Knowledge & Understanding

a through l = Whole Picture of topic/object of study, for me.

I do hope and pray that this will help everyone overcome Any Learning Challenges you may have! The Key Is to Observe "How YOU Learn Best" and "Find YOUR OWN Unique Learning Style." When You Do That, you Will Learn More than you ever thought possible, exceeding your own expectations and the expectations others have for/of you! But of Course Prayer & Meditation Is Always FIRST, Before Starting such an endevor to study & learn, being Most Helpful of All! In my opinion from personal experience, It is the only way to successfully achieve your goals! Prayers and Meditation ALWAYS FIRST; Then Stratagizing and executing a plan, SECOND; in order to achieve your goals, study and/or learn and overcome.

In Conclusion, I just want all of you to know IF you Do Have ANY Type of Learning Challenge, WHAT-SO-EVER, Do NOT let it make you feel ashamed or inferior and Do NOT let others make you feel that way! If You Have a Learning Challenge, It Just Means "You HAVE Your OWN UNIQUE Style of Learning" that Is BEST For YOU, and meant for your intended purpose in life!
You CAN OVERCOME and Achieve Your Goals In Life, even if it takes you longer than most "normal/average" people! Wither Learning Challenged or not, we all have our own Challenges to face, every day....This can apply to "Normal Life", as well, concerning most everything I have said. I pray you all have a Blessed day and can glean from what I have shared.

Hi Wildone!

That is great, that she has found a way to overcome her challenges! My counsin has a son with Downs Syndrome. Has your cousin had to have many surgeries? I hope not. The doctors said both of my last two children were supposed to have Downs Syndrome, but GOD worked a miracle and they were not born with that type of challenge. They have other challenges though. Thank you for sharing that with me!

Heather, people are cruel!! Instead of making fun of somebody that is "different", they ought to be happy they don't have any major health problems themselves!!

Hi Wildone!

No, the Reason WHY I asked if she has had to have surgery yet, is beause A LOT Of People who Have Downs Syndrome, have Internal Organ Problems and Must have Surgery just to live.....Including Heart Surgery before 5 years of age. That is why I asked I was NOT being ugly or making fun of anyone I. I would NEVER NEVER EVER do anything like that and I have never been that way. I was the one in school always befriending the ones who everyone else made fun of and stood up for them.... My cousins son, has already had to have 3 surgerys before he turnd 5. Hope yall have a Blessed Day.
Love Always Your Sister,
Stacey/Eagle
