Stuff it Mason. You do not even contribute with anything to this forum and still you act like you are the king around here when in fact you are nothing but garbage

Boyd, you are insulting a member. 1 st warning buddy! Keep it friendly. You can discuss everything around here, but not bashing and insulting everyone.

Changed the thread title a little bit so I can post the updates from Keoni Waxman in one thread.

I heared from Keoni again:

Hey Marco,
Absolution went great - biggest action sequences in a long time. We had both Ron and Lauro working on the 2nd unit team together this time - lots of hand to hand and some awesome gags. Big locations too - some never shot before in Bucharest - so we are very excited. Steven was more involved in the script/character this time as well and with Byron Mann, Vinnie Jones and Josh Barnett the cast is solid. I just started cutting the film but so far it kicks major ass.

I also just finished the sound mix on AGM last week. Final VFX shots going in now so we should be able to deliver it soon. Not sure about trailer eta but I've locked picture and finished the mix so everything should be coming out any day now - probably right after the Cannes market next month.

We always have new projects in development - Steven has many ideas for movies - but need to finish Absolution before starting anything new - it was a lot of work posting AGM while prepping Absolution so need to slow it down a bit and make sure we deliver two good films to you guys now. Check in after Cannes - there should be a few announcements regarding new projects then!

Peace.

By the way, I replied to Keoni Waxman and asked him about The Expendables 4. I asked him if Steven is aware of the fact that evryone wants him in this franchise and if he is in negotiations for part 4. I don't know if he has some info and if he can share some info, but I could give it a try.

This was an outstanding interview! It was incredibly generous of Keoni Waxman to give such detailed, well thought-out answers. He could have just responded with a sentence or two, claiming to be too busy with his schedule, but the depth of his explanations was remarkable, very informative, and reflected what seemed to me to be a genuine affection and respect for Seagal.

That being said, DiDa deserves a huge thank-you for coming up with the idea and for taking the initiative -- brilliant! And the contributed questions and suggestions from some of the members here were excellent. All in all, it added up to an extraordinary discussion/interview.

I especially liked this paragraph of Mr. Waxman, which, for me anyway, explained quite well the reasons for the fast cuts and doubles. We have all noticed it, found it annoying at times, but I hope everyone really reads this and understands why it can happen. Well done!!

"Hollywood likes fast cuts because there aren’t really any more “real” martial artists (except the obvious guys) making action movies. Most of the guys now are actors who are doubled by stunt guys or are super heros who fight in costumes via CGI. It’s hard to compete with that when a lot of the audience has grown used to the fast cutting and massive VFX. That said – Steven still choreographs all his own action and (unless too dangerous) does his own fight sequences. Because it is the movies after all – we do use doubles for dangerous or more technical shots – but if you see a Seagal fight believe that he choreographed it and put a beat down on all the bad guys himself. One of the other reasons for a double (and therefor fast cutting) is because we have to move so fast on the shooting schedules these days. We used have about 25 days to make the films but it is now down to 20 to 18 days – it costs more to shoot so we don’t have enough time. As such we sometimes need to fill in the sequences on 2nd unit days – that’s why I work with Lauro Chartrand as my stunt coordinator. He’s a director as well so I can tell him what I need to finish a sequence and he can pick up the shot and I know it will cut in. In all we have been using my team from Canada for the past 6 years – we all know Steven’s style and know how to make the movies. I brought the entire team down for FOE which we shot in New Mexico instead of Vancouver this time."

I just hope the "dangerous/technical shoots" do not involve Steven walking from point A to point B. However, if there is a hole in the ground somewhere, then I would understand :).

Classic epic DiDa!

Moreover I have a question to you, but this is completely voluntarily of course.
In a past thread I mentioned my dream idea of a Golgo 13 Live-Action movie starring Seagal. The rights of Golgo 13 were sold to producer Samuel Hadida.

My dream movie would be an 1:1 adaptation of the manga-only story named "The impossible hit". Now my question. If I take complete pictures of the manga, would you ask Keoni Waxman if he + Seagal see a potenial movie?

Of course they would have to talk with Samuel Hadida + Golgo 13 creator Takao Saito, but a question couldn't hurt, don't you think?
Sure I first would have to take pictures, but than there is a problem.
Can I send them to you via e-mail? Unfortunately it wouldn't be only one message, but estimated 30.

Reply if you want.

Strange, I contacted Keoni Waxman 3 weeks ago and he isn't replying anymore...:(
I hope he is just busy.

And........................he was just busy!!! He replied to me yesterday.

Glad you like the trailer - AGM is a cool movie! Steven with a sword. Steven with a gun. Steven breaking arms. Not sure when it comes out but I think you guys will like this one. ABS is still in post - I'm working hard to lock the picture by the end of the month. It's a bigger movie than AGM so it's taking a while to get it into shape.
About TJ - at the moment the 3rd season remains in limbo. There is a lot of interest in it - and I would love to finish telling the story of Kane and his team - but at the moment there is no plan on the horizon to jump back into season 3 unfortunately. Maybe if the fans rallied some online support we could get it off the ground, you never know... A final TJ movie to wrap up Kane's story would be cool tho - great idea. Hmm...
Right now Steven is on his tour and we are talking about a couple of movie ideas he has in mind - just waiting for him to return to see what he feels like doing. I've been scouting in Romania for future projects but nothing set until Steven returns...
Feel free to check in for updates and thanks for the idea of a possible TJ movie to tie things up. Any other movies of the past 10 years that you guys would like to see a follow up on? Let me know!
Peace.

Guys, Mr. Waxman is looking for ideas together with Steven and he is asking us to help them with that!! ISN'T THAT AWESOME!!!!? I chatted with him about a True Justice final movie where the plot is finished. It seems he really likes the idea and hadn't thought about that.

So, it also seems that after the tour, Steven will be joining Waxman again for some new ideas. I didn't get the feeling that Steven will do a new movie (Foreign and Domestic) after his tour. Maybe this project is cancelled or Waxman doesn't know anything about it.

I will open a new thread where everyone can share his ideas about which movie from the last 10 years you would like to see a sequel of.

Waxman wont be involed....Its not a Voltage film

I am a bit disapponited with that message to be honest(Romania Again)

If Waxman and Seagal continue to work together I would rather they stayed in Vancouver/New Mexico where the casts and crews are better

As for the sequals idea the only one that would do well is a Maximum Conviction 2 with Seagal and Austin together but with a plot that puts them both on screen at the same time

MaxCon 2 would be great :) Just give Seagal alot more screen time than in the first MaxCon movie ;)

I ask me if it's really a normal Seagal action movie...or just a little role like in "Gutshot Straight".

Thank you DiDa for your efforts

A last TJ movie would be nice, but I would prefer a shortened last season with 6 episodes (3 movies). I think some channels hope that there will be a 3rd season, so I think a short last season would be better.

Got a reply from Mr. Waxman:

Great ideas - we have been talking about a follow up to The Keeper for years. It really was a 'Walking Tall' type of story which could be done anywhere - but NM or Seattle are probably the best places. Into the Sun is a really cool movie too - a follow up would be great to do in Asia - it's one of his Sony films which makes it hard to do a sequel on since they own the story rights however...
Yes there is talk of 'Foreign and Domestic' when Steven returns. I am not involved with that project but I hear it is shooting in Alabama. Steven wants me to focus on putting together a project for him in Asia for our next collaboration so we would be doing that right afterward.
Any interest out there for a Max Con sequel? There has been many requests for that - just wondering what the fans think.
Again, keep in touch and I'll keep you posted on my end. A Good Man drops this month - let me know what you think of it and Steven using his new blade.
Peace

It seems Foreign and Domestic is really happening!

I told him that a lot of people would like to see a MaxCon sequel! But maybe with another team up (not Austin)

So he shoots FAD first then a film in Asia then maybe MC 2

that all sounds goo to me and I like the way Seagals career has gone since 2008 onwards...its a shame what happened between 2003-2007 which he picked and starred in some truly awful films even for STV standards

I must say, this all sounds very good and I’m looking forward to both the “Foreign and Domestic” -movie and the Keoni Waxman-project in Asia. I always wanted to see Seagal in an asian movie again, so this sounds great. I hope they can find some great locations and actors there. My favorite location would probably be Hongkong, but we will see. :)

At this place I want to thank you DiDa for your efforts and Keoni Waxman for his kind and interesting answers.

I think a Max Con sequel would be a good film. But I'm not sure if Austin has made a film since then....

It's seems that Austin is out of the movie making. Shame, because he made some real fun dtv movies.

Austins last film was The Package but nothing since....I heard he had given up making films but maybe he would come back for MC 2.

He had a role in an Adam Sandler comedy after that (but that was still last year). I think he had to pause his movie career for a bit because of some operation (you know those wrestling people are always falling apart). He's been concentrating on his Podcast and now he has a Broken Skull Challenge obstacle course show (something like a redneck version of Ninja Warrior). I wouldn't be surprised to see him return to action films soon, he had enough time to recuperate and rest.
