"WBB: Well OK … let's cover just the martial art genre.
You recently worked on the Steven Seagal, Ja Rule action film: “Half Past Dead”, what was that like.
ART: In one word INCREDIBLE! As the Action Coordinator, I got the chance to not only to work with Steven Seagal but I worked with Ja Rule and trained him a little for the film. I also worked with Tsui Hark’s protégé Xin Xin Xiong and learned so much about Hong Kong style fight choreography incorporating cable work. As usual I took what I learned and added my own twist to it. I call it Hong Kong/Mexican style Ha! I also got along real well with Walker Texas Ranger co-star Nia Peoples and actor Morris Chestnut. Nia is just fantastic, both as an actress and Martial artist and Morris is an incredible actor, athlete and great human being.
WBB: How was it working with Ja Rule?
ART: Ja Rule is really a cool guy. He’s so down to earth and gives it his all. I worked out with him as I would any of my students and went the distance. I really respect his dedication and talents.
WBB: Steven Seagal?
ART: Very intense and charismatic. Steven is an incredible Aikidoist and has tremendous screen presence. He has very natural instincts on film."
