Let's discuss The Patriot...What are your thoughts?

I watched it too, and loved it of course...This film definately does something for me as a woman, I really like the sensitive side of him...:) I also noticed that the red petals at the end were rose petals or something similar, totally different from the "red medicine" that was being used in the tea...I think the red medicine is actually Echinacea, which is used as an herbal treatment for colds nowadays...Also, don't know what the purple flowers were, but they are so pretty...He is such a tall man, that's very evident in this movie...God, what a man...They just don't build em that way no more...;)

I also noticed that when creating his security pass, he lists his height as 6 foot five I think, I think that's pretty accurate, not too far off I don't think...He is a big man, and very yummy, oh yes! :D

Umm...and it was the other scene in the movie that amused me-it's when the soldiers were picking the flowers wearing the gas masks.

I'd have to say The Patriot is the least favourite of all the films (now that I've seen them all, except for My giant).

It had too many things wrong with it for me to enjoy it on any level. The script was bad; the supporting cast was bad; the music was just plain awful; and the director, coming as he did from cinematography, while he did make pretty pictures of the Montana countryside, didn't know squat about directing, you know, those pesky critters called actors. He didn't know how to tell a story convincingly.

TDWoj, you probably know this already but his appearance in My Giant is only a blink-and-you'll-miss-it cameo. It is worth watching though.

I think it's the one time when Seagal truly allowed himself to be made fun of (even though it's still just a gentle poke at his image).

I did find, somewhere on the web, a film clip of the spot, but the sound and the picture were so bad it was hard to make out the details - and it wasn't the whole clip, either. What I did manage to see and hear of it, though, was very funny.

BTW, the "Roseambo" episode is coming up on TBS Superstation on July 24th, at 4 p.m. I'll have to remember to programme my VCR to tape it.

I saw that episode. Basically he just turns up for like 30 seconds at the end, while the final credits are running. I only taped the last 2 or minutes (the rest of the show was really not worth it).

I thought "The Patriot" was good. I watched it twice the day I bought it.
I found it much more enjoyable than FDB. L.Q. Jones was great and he and Steven seemed to have genuine respect for each other. The film has recently been releaased on DVD in Australia with HPD and it came with a theatrical trailer on it.

A couple of posts up you guys are debating which is the worst Steven Seagal movie. God, don't forget "Ticker". That was the absolute most horrible film he ever did!!!!!!

I didn't find Ticker nearly as bad as The Patriot. It was flawed, but not nearly as much as The Patriot was.

But he was soooo incredibly charming and caring
in The Patriot...
That alone made it a great movie for me...
I know it wasn't the typical Seagal movie, but I liked that he shows a different side of himself in it...
It's possible that he's a lot like that in real-life, maybe not...
I really liked how down to earth he was...

Another thread is about rappers in his movies so it's ironic that the cameo by Ice T was good! He has a snarling screen presence and could maybe make a good villain in a bigger part in his movies. I was expecting Ticker to be awful but it was a step above that!
The Patriot was a bit slow but enjoyable enough.Too little action though.

Ticker didn't satisfy so much as an action film (the director Albert Pyun has no idea how to put together an exciting sequence), but it did have plenty of classic Seagalisms in there, so it has some entertainment value... :)

Lookie here all
Steven in The Patriot, is really so gorgeous, that I readily forgive its shortcomings as a film and just feast my eyes on that handsome hunk. He's got the look!
luv & peace

Guess Whos Back !!!!
The Patriot ???

Hmmm Ok .....

I can see where steve was going with the script he wanted to make a film where people were trying to follow a story with a little fight action thrown in , but die hard fans(such as ourselves) may or may not like it when the violence is cut down on , i wouldn't say it was a bad film , but then i wouldnt say its up there with his best work , but it has Steven Seagal in it so hey ,
