Meditation

Does anyone here know anything about meditation? I've tried it a few times in the past. I just need to arrange my personal schedule so I am able to do it on a regular basis so I can get the full mental, physical, and spiritual benifits from it. I'm looking at is kundalini meditation. The first time I tried it I did very good. It was nighttime and I had the lights turned off so everything around me was dark and silent. I went into a trance for a little while. I remember seeing colored dots of light. I guess those are vibrations of energy from my aura, right? I then heard a noise, like something clapping. I then opened my eyes. I felt really good after doing that. If anyone here can give me any advice, I'd be happy to hear it. I'm also currently training in martial arts (mixed martial arts centered around tae kwon do; my instructor was trained by lot of people including Joe Lewis, Bill Wallace, an aikidoist with the same style as Seagal, a Gracie, and one of Bruce Lee's students), and I know meditation will help me with that.

Yes...

However I do it for other purposes, and have never tried the one you mentioned (kundalini). I have heard about it though.

All I can say is that many people fool themselves into thinking they are meditating. I am not critisizing by this ... just letting people know that if you really meditate it doesn't stop when you get up from the cushion. Some people think that meditation is being blank. Thoughts come and go ... that's ok. Being mindful in everything you do is the best meditation.

More later...
