I stood up for myself in high school in front of a girl I liked and got my ass kicked! lol. Only been in one fight as an adult while under the influence, it wasn't tough or pretty just lots of swinging arms and falling over from both of us :p

Hahaha! The coolest thread title ever.

I got my ass kicked by an older boy when I was a kid - he thought I had beaten up his younger brother, but he got the wrong kid. He later apologised.

In my adult years I have sparred in and out of the ring many times when I trained in kickboxing, but I have never had a proper fight.

In my job I have been threatened with knives, needles, physical violence and, most notably, a hammer and I have detained and physically subdued many fu*kers trying to steal stuff from where I worked, but I have never actually had what I could call a fight.

So I guess I am not for real. :D

C'mon Glimmer I know you're "For-Real" so to speak!!
Maybe the phrasing was not clever!!!LOL!!!
Sparring in the Ring is very Hard!!!
I have not myself acted like in the Movies!
I have had several brush with Danger but I only did my best to survive!
I don't want to judge anybody!
Everyday Life is Hard enough sometimes!!
There are so many Kinds of Courage needed in Many Fields!
The Nurse is courageous! The Doctor is courageous!the construction Worker
also is!the cop too sometimes when he is not beating up innocent people!
I have been involved in fights four or Five times and I think I have been Lucky
more than very proficient!!!
Once I took on Five guys at a bowling scene but I had no other choice!
I did not properly knocked them all down like Steven Seagal or Chuck Norris!!!
This was real life and I managed to survive!!!
However these guys won't do it again especially the Leader!!!LOL!!!

i'm not a man, but i did had couples of fight when i was a teenager. I was always sticking around late at night with friends. so, sometimes you had a fight.
before i was quiet impulsive. So when someone was getting on my nerves i could quickly become very bad. Now i try to avoid fights 'cos' the consequences could be very severe for my career (having a background wouldn't be a good idea for someone like me who's got a diploma in criminal law :D).
Furthermore, in studying martial arts and buddhism, i think now that fights are not the best solution. So i always try to calm down and talk

I have never (and would never) had to fight for "honour". Why? Because it's the #1 cause of fightstarters. Someone drunk start messing with "your" girl! How dare they?! etc...
I have, however, had to resolve a couple of conflicts physicaly. One time when two men tried to punch and kick me (they where both detained by me until the cops got them). Another time a train guard took me for someone else and tried to subdue me (he thought he was a bad as and said that aikido was crap jadajadajada. I held him down) Remember the violin-face story Glimmer! :)
Am I for real? I don't think so...
I just train aikido because it give me great happines in life, and I happen to be moderately talanted in it.

Well,it seems that semantics and Martial Arts are not close Friends!LOL!
When I said "For Real" I ONLY meant that as a Martial Artist I wished to know
who had been able to put their skills to the test!!
I did not meant that people who were Martial Artists were 'Street Fighters'!!
Myself as a Martial Artist would never ever fight if it was not necessary!
And by Necessary I mean that there is no other solution!!
The First thing I learnt in Karate and Later in Kung-Fu was that there is
no first strike in Martial Arts;be them Karate/Kung-Fu/Aikido or any true Martial Arts!!
One has to avoid fighting as much as possible!
To start with,First because it's against the Law!
And also because It's against the Philosophy of Most Martial Arts!
Non-Violence is the Rule in Most Martial Arts!
But in Our Modern World where one can get killed for a cigarette it's better to have the skills behind them as a Protection!Like people have Airbags in their
cars!
You have Airbags but you wish not to use them!!!
Peace!

I haven't been in a fight for awhile.

I remember when I was like 12 there was this guy who just hated me for no reason, He kept giving me dirty looks and he would beat or push my friends around. This guy was about to go into High School or probably was in High School. Well, I remember he tied my friend up to a tree out side my house. I remember I was just playing some Sega in the kitchen cause I was bored, then I heard a knock on the door from my friend who is like 8. He kept telling me to come outside cause this guy wants to fight me, I just laughed and said "No, What for?" Well, I came outside and it was that damn guy who I was talking about. I called my homie down the street, then he came riding down on his bike about 3 minutes later. He came knocking at my door and we both went outside. The guy finally let the kid go from the tree, but he kept talking mess about me and I couldn't take it anymore. I came walking down to this tall white guy that is totally talker than me by a little bit, I was just looking up at him. He pushed me around, then it started from there. I remember this fight so well because he swung about 6 times and I dodged almost all of them except for the last punch that knicked me on the side of the cheek. After I got that first hit, I laughed and told him. "It took you long enough" and my friend was like "OOOOOooooooh". After that happened, I took a shot at his stomach, then I remember he tried to come at me, but I blocked him and I remember I tried to "Powerbomb" him *Like Wrestling". He pulled down my pants cause I almost had him in the air, then when my shorts were down. My older friend came running down cause he seen the fight, When he got there he deck the guy in the face and I started to stomp on his feet making them all bloody. Everyone down my street had my back, but I remember I had another fight in junior high.

Junior High, I remember this guy tought I was talking mess about him and he wanted to fight me after P.E. Him and his friends stood there waiting for something to happen. I was about to fight him cause I just wanted to get it over with, I took my backpack strap off, then he came running at me. I said in my head "Dang, I couldn't even take off my backpack." We were right by the water fountain, then I remember he tried to push me into them, but I punched him into the face and right when that happened. One of the P.E. Teachers came to break it up, We both got sent to the office and later on when we came back. He told all of his friends that I was crying in the office, but I just acted normal and I remember he was crying cause his mom came down.

High School, I remember this guy wanted to fight me cause I kept punking him at BasketBall. I was leaning up against the wall, then I said something to him and he tossed the ball at me, but missed and I said "Why are you even playing BasketBall when you know that your not even good?" I laughed and walked away, but when I turned my back he started to hit me as hard as he can in the back. I just stood there and took it like a man, when he was done hitting me. I looked at him and laughed, The Teacher took him to the office for hitting me. I didn't want to fight anymore, just wanted to get away from that field of fighting.

I really haven't been in that much fights lately, but when I'm at work there are times that people give me dirty looks. I'm a Security Guard and I work at a Hotel, Sometimes they try to talk mess, but I have the power to kick them out of there room without refunds which is funny too me cause they will send over 100 dollars and won't get it back.

Aikilove - please refresh my memory, as I cannot recall the violin face story!

Lonewolf - that's cool that you have an XBOX - I have just been playing on Halo 2 on mine. I've got a couple of decent fighting games for it - Dead Or Alive 3 is cool and Soul Calibur 2 is awesome! There's a guy on there who fights with a big stick, kinda like Seagal when he takes the thugs out by the grocery store in Fire Down Below! I love playing as that guy and annoy my friends when we have deathmatches by twatting the sh*t out of them with the stick before they can get near to me!

Prisoner 1137 - cool story man. I am a security guard too - I work for the music retailer HMV and I get dirty looks in my place of work all the time.

Take it easy guys!

I've been in a couple of short-lived fights throughout my life. Most of them being in Jr. High or High School or during those years. I cannot really say that I've ever been in a really serious fight though. I'm not really one to start a fight unless someone I care about is being f***ed with. I have been in a fight in the city during my first 2 years at the city community college with some locals who didn't attend the school. Anyways, I really cannot say that I've been in a fight in the last 5 years and I wouldn't say that I've ever been in a serious fight where I felt that I was in a huge amount of danger. I was around to see lots of people get in serious fights which I would consider when one person wants to put the other in a temporary coma or worse. I just haven't been in one of those. Maybe if I ever see my ex-girlfriend and tell her what I think of her in front of her new boyfriend he'll try and start something.

Hi Zen!
I like your quote!
Is it from Lao Tseu?
Peace!

Something like that, I'm sure. I think it's from the Upanisads. It's actually a translation of the song that is played at the end of 'The Matrix Revolutions'. Not that I want to discuss whether or not the 2nd two Matrix movies were good or not with anyone since I know that the majority of folks hate them and I haven't even watched them for at least a year. There definately is better movies out there but I wouldn't consider them trash, in my opinion.

At the time I had only ;like everyone I guess;a dial up connection and a very bad internet access provider,so it was a bit painful but I read it all through!!LOL!
