THE PERFECT WEAPON

Director: Matthias Titus Paar

Cast:
Johnny Messner
Steven Seagal
Vernon Wells
Sasha Jackson

Plot:

In a not too distant future, a totalitarian state secret government organization run by The Director (Steven Seagal) controls all aspects of life. All “enemies of the state” are dealt with in the harshest way and most of them are executed by a secret organization’s operatives and assassins. The best operative is code-named Condor (Johnny Messner) – an elite agent and hit man for the government. However, in his latest assignment he fails to kill an opposition leader and finds himself on the run from the very same government agency that he works for. This sets in motion a chain of events with unforeseen consequences for all involved. CONDOR just might survive the hunt by the all powerful government organization and the betrayals by so-called allies as he is THE PERFECT WEAPON.

Another new movie?

Ahead of Cannes, VMI Worldwide has set Steven Seagal to front “Perfect Weapon”.
Not to be confused with the ’90s classic starring Jeff Speakman, the hitman thriller sounds like a cross between Sly Stallone vehicle “Assassins” and recent Sean Penn vehicle “The Gunman”.

In the not too distant future, an elite assassin fails to terminate his target and finds himself on the run from the totalitarian state’s secret government organization that employs him.

Seagal is next in “Absolution” (the trailer of which we posted yesterday), co-starring Vinnie Jones, and recently started filming Michael Winnick’s “Code of Honor”.

From James Hiatt after the first 5 days of shooting:

What a cool week this has been! I have ordered a SWAT team to subdue fugitives, I have blown up a door, I have ordered an army to march, I have spun worlds into being, I have yelled at a movie star, I have been yelled at by a movie star, I have overcome great adversity and managed to help steer us straight and true. We have an amazing team here, and it is my highest pleasure to lead them into battle everyday. We win every day.

I just had a conversation with director Titus Paar. He promised me he would come back to me after shooting has wrapped and he did :)

I asked him about Steven's part. He told me Steven has a big part and that he will play the villain (for the 2nd time in his career) in this movie. He also said that Steven has more dialogue he has ever had in one movie.

The thing that got me excited is that he told me that this movie is a passion project for Steven and that he and Titus Paar worked on this movie together in China. He also said that Steven is taking many risks he isn't usually doing for other movies. Steven also created and performed a 3 minute fight scene for himself!! Steven has some VERY different scenes that he apparently hasn't done before.

Guys, I am very excited for this project. It's been a long time since Steven put in some passion in a project and most of the time these projects turn out to be good. Also nice to see him play the villain again and to see him in a movie with a very different setting. :)

Ha ha, Titus Paar keeps talking to me. Very nice guy! He says that there are some crazy sword scenes with Steven in it and that he never thought Steven had these kind of sword skills. Amazing!

Thank you for the updates!

Sounds really interesting, but wasn't Seagal only a very short time on set?

Hopefully we don't have to wait too long for a first trailer.

I don't know if he was a set for a very short time. There were some days during the shoot he wasn't on set, but we cannot tell how many exactly.

As usual, thanks for all your time and effort with Titus Parr to get all this information to the site. Very interesting stuff, with a lot of cool sets. Looking forward to this one.
