He was Bridget..i found this in one of our newspapers today just so people may know abit more about our of our greats..

The first car he ever drove was an Austin 7 (which he brought for 5 pounds)..

Then in the 1960's he brought an Austin30 in which he won 100 out of 110 races in..

In 1973 he won his first Bathurst 1000 in an ToranaXU-1

In 1975 he won in an Torana L34..
Then in 1980 he won in an Holden Commodore..

Then in 1983 he won again in an VH Commodore..

Then in 1996 he won in an Volvo..

Then in 1997 he won in an HSV...

Then in 1998 he won in an Jackaroo 4WD..

Then he drove an Holden Ute in the Targa Tasmania Rally ..

Then the car he was killed in was an Daytona Coupe..they say he was killed instantly ...he had grown up children one of his sons is following in his fathers footsteps...I got up close to him once when he came to Adelaide during our 'Clipsal 500' his nic-name was 'peter perfect' and he was..
so thats just abit more about this great guy..Peter Brock..

Just an little bit more info the police who are investigating the accident seem to think it may have happened through driver fatigue he did come from an race in England (where he was driving an FX-Holden) and had no rest and straight into an other race and not even checking out the race course doesnt help either...so we will see what the co-driver has to say when he comes out of hospital..

That is sad Heather. I'm a race fan, but I'm not familiar with this particular driver. It sounds like he had a very interesting career.

Yes he had an good life when it comes to car-racing girl it was nearly 40 years ....His funeral is going to be next Tuesday and then there is going to be an memorial day at Sandown Race way..He is being cremated and his urn is going to be put into an holden race car and driven around his favourite race track one last time..he would love that..'Brockie you may be gone, but you will never be forgotten'...
