A Steven Seagal fan
Yes,he was very classy with his comment.I'm not a JCVD fan,but it was nice to see him in a different light from all of the other times I've listened to him.I still don't think that Steven Seagal's weight makes any difference to his performance. It may make a difference in his appeal to small minded individuals, but being very slim,as in Above The Law,or at the heaviest that he's been,he never lost that awesome presence or fighting ability and was as exciting to watch either way.Hollywood is the Capital of narrow-mindedness,but it doesn't change the fact that SS is a very charismatic and intense actor at whatever weight he happens to be.

Thank you. Well typed ;)

Stallone is really short and small in size so Seagal would look like a huge bear compared to him. If Seagal lost weight it would defninantly work better for the film, and also for his career, plus most importantly his health. Problem i see with Seagal in almost every interview is he has an arragance and that probably transcends to his views on the state of his body so maybe he thinks he is fine as he is ? Did he mention anything to the 2 girls that got to meet him in regards to getting back in shape or dieting etc ?

Dolph's also mentioned Seagal a few times for Expendables 3. The whole thing of kind of referencing the stars backgrounds and whole enigmas in the second one suggests that Seagal would be cool playing a CIA agent perhaps. All those myths and rumours about him being ex-CIA are well known so I'm sure Sly would play on that.
I agree with Van Damme though, Seagal would have to lose a bit of weight to look more mobile. I mean everyone who came to Exp 2, brought their A game. 2-3 Stones off would make a lot of difference to SS. Not just for mobility and looking better on screen, but health. Plus you also have to think that for the majority of cinema goers, Exp 3 would be the first film they've seen Seagal in for maybe 20 years. They might get a shock at how big he is, then he could be the laughing stock of the film. Which would be a shame.

I totally agree with Van Damme! He says nice words about Steven and that it would be better for Steven and his career to get back in shape. But believe me, Seagal will be in EX3. No matter what happens. The hype is to big that he can't say no to it!

If Seagal says "No" to EX3 it will be his biggest mistake ever. EX3 is Steven Seagal's ticket to back in game and business. Seagal could promote the movie with Sly, Arnold, Statham and other cast members on TV shows, Comic-con etc...

The talk on e3 seems to grow and more often Seagals name is mentioned.

I really hope Seagal sees the video of jcvd and heres the kindness in his words but also picks up on the advice.

Seagal should feel some pride when his 'nr. 1 enemy' praises him for his charisma and feels he would be the best choice for the bad guy in e3. And let's not forget Seagal already proved to be a cool villain in Machete.

I would prefer Seagal over Cage anyday.

Peace

I agree with you 100% supertom. Exactly what I wanted to say :)

The major sticking point is Seagal and Avi Lerner. Their court case was well publicised. If Seagal isn't too stubborn though, I think Sly Stallone has enough command to get Lerner to go along with it. If you're looking at the major action players of the 80's and 90's then the two names left to get are Seagal and Snipes. Sly and Lerner should go all out to make it happen.
I think Seagal would be more inclined to want to do a small role, like Norris, whilst Snipes would probably relish taking the main villain part.

New Seagal interview:

http://www.nextmovie.com/blog/steven-seagal-the-expendables-maximum-conviction-interview/

Read the part about The Expendables.

I can't describe how sad this is.

He was asked this question on a radio show last week(in which he was promoting maximum conviction) and he sadi that he would do the film in they offered him a role in it

he also said he would do maximum conviction 2 if he had chance and that TJ season 3 was 50/50

he also said he had 3 films in the works but none of them were forces of execution

I'm noticing more and more with every recent interview that i've read that Seagal is way overconfident about himself. He is in a fase where he thinks he is all wise and the world is all about Steven and where he is losing connection with his fans.

I mean, he doesn't like the story and some actors in Expandables? Suck it up, the format had succes written all over it and he, and his career, definitely needs the boost.

Hope he gets past this fase very fast.

Peace

Agree with you.

Here is my hornest opinion of him now:
He is a damn fool for turning don EX3!! And he dosnt seem to care a bit about what the fans wants, that much is clear now!! So why should fans support him any longer if he dosnt care what we want.

Really need to consider if I even want to support him any longer after this BIG letdown!

Well the report about Cage being in it is fales. Stallone says that no one has been made any offers yet, and I think the same goes for Seagal. So I have a feeling that the interview part about Expendables 3 may be false. I mean Stallone does not even have a ascript yet, and nobody have read anything. So how can they say no to something they dont even know about? I think we should give this some more time and see how it goes when Stallone is finished with the script, and they start casting, which propably wont be untill summer next year.

the interview I heard with him last week he said he would take a role in E3 if they offered him a part which to me means they havent yet

he also said he had a few other films that he was close to making and that a sequal to MC he would do

he said TJ was up to the studio and not him and that MC was a stone cold austin film that Waxman asked if he wanted a part of

He wont get the chance again for an Expendables movie role. He just blew his biggest chance of a comeback to the theater releases. What an idiot. Really didnt think he would say no to this one but apparently he has lost his mind in a big way. I hope Stallone dosnt ask him again he dosnt deserve it now.

Well, I would give him a last chance for Expendables 3.

If he refuse the offer (if he gets one, of course), I probably would rethink my fan loyalty, and it looks like I wouldn't be the only one.

Nothing is over untill the casting is done ;) ;) ;)

What pisses me off the most is, when he is interviwed on video nobody ask's him if he would like to be in The Expendables 3 if he was given an offer. They always ask him bunch of other crap, but do they ask him about Ex3, noooooo. The only 100% reliable confirmation is when Seagal or Stallone announces it in an video interview.

Its not bollocks he said only last week he would do it if asked and that he respected the people involved with making the film he also said he loved working with steve austin and would work with him again anytime

IMO i am not that fussed with E3 has if he is in it he will only be in it like chuck norris was and have a 10 minute cameo

id rather he made a film in which he starred in
