I have read from several ources that Seagal does'nt like his second movie "Hard To Kill". I also heard that he did'nt get on with director Bruce Malmuth. Every actor has made a film they have'nt liked but I was just wondering what reasons he gave for slating "Hard To Kill".

Anyone know?

There were many dis-agreements about writing & direction of the film that Seagal wanted and the director wamted something else.
That's what Malmuth said(Malmuth had a segment in the Seagal E! Hollywood Show about working with Seagal on HTK) .....Seagal only said he didn't like it.....
I think the only films that Seagal ever said(in print) he actually liked and was happy with the results were ATL,US,ODG & FDB

PS: At amazon.com(I was looking up that new Seagal 3 CD set due out the 13th this month to see what it was)......one of the versions of HTK is called "Surviving The Game"......I never saw that before....

OK.here's where I saw "Surviving The Game"

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t...ef=sr_1_17/102-6915567-9888926?v=glance&s=dvd

and here's the new 3 DVD set due out on May 13th,2003

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t...ef=sr_1_20/102-6915567-9888926?v=glance&s=dvd

why these 3 movies I find extremely odd.they have nothing in common.....run in no particular order(like the 4 pack)..strange

I agree with Suzi. It was working with LeBrock. As Ive heard it was a pretty nasty divorce with all kinds of accusations flying.
luv & peace

Yes, but the movie was made before all the nastiness, right?
So why would he not like it? Perhaps because he has hard feelings toward her regarding the break-up, and doesn't have fondness for the film because of that? I guess I can understand that...But could be a whole different reason, too...

I really don't believe that it was because of Kelly Le Brock.
Hard to Kill was released around 1990 and they didn't divorce
until 1994/95. He was going through the divorce during the
filming of Under Siege II - Dark Territory.

I read somewhere that it was because of Kelly Lebrock that he didn't like the movie. He said it was his least favorite.

Yeah.....in the Parade mag interview 4/94 they seemed happy enough to purchase the ranch outside Cameron and were moving there that Spring....he had enough of the LA area and stated he wanted to raise his kids in a healthy atmosphere(which is why I found it strange that a couple of years later he was back living in LA....he seems to have done a complete 360).....and they even had another kid after that too....then ODG was released(personally I think this is what broke the camels back.....I really don't think Seagal anticipated the critics turning on him so harshly as they did .....I mean after the praise and succes of Under Seige......then the next movie they are calling you every name in the book).......by 10/94 LeBrock filed for divorce...........so if anything '94 was the major turning point of the Seagal's........he may not like it now looking back at it because of LeBrock...but at the time it was a matter of disputes over writing credits,direction,etc....

Thanks for the replies.

I would tend to agree with J Lucus, that he probably voiced his dislike of "Hard To Kill" because of creative differences rather than the fact his ex-wife starred in it. I have heard rumours before how he did'nt get on with Bruce Malmuth and that they both had different visions of where the film should go but obviously the studio went with Malmuth's and hence probably why he dislikes it.

Peace.

Yep, it was because of the differences of opinion with the director Bruce Malmuth. Kelly LeBrock had nothing to do with it at all.
