reasons for this are that yakuza in my view will be like exit wounds in a way but not s violent.us3 will be more gun fighting then martial arts and rescue will be 18 because i have checked lam on imdb a few minutes back and all his films are 18 in the uk.

Speaking of ratings, did anyone else in the UK think that "Fire Down Below" did'nt deserve an 18 certificate? I for one did'nt think so, as there is next to no really bad language plus the martial arts in it are quite tame compared to the likes of "Marked For Death" and "Out For Justice". There is even no visible bloody gunshot wounds during the skermish in the mine. At least "The Patriot" had a bloodspurting gunfight in the hospital and other assorted violence to justify an 18 rating.

I would even say that the 15 certificate version of "On Deadly Ground" is more violent than the 18 certificate "Fire Down Below".

The BBFC seem to take a dim view of Seagal's brutal brand of heroics as they have censored (sometimes quite heavily), most of his output.

After the kiddie-friendly "Half Past Dead", Seagal seems to have returned to R rated territory with "The Foreigner". Hopefully his new films will continue this trend.
